Hope all are enjoying this weather? But I think for most of us with APS and a lot more illnesses causes problems.
I won’t bore you with all my problems, but does anyone suffer with itchiness? Since this hot weather I have suffered with excessive itchiness just between my shoulder blades. My GP put me on a antihistamine 180mg and it still not doing anything. I spoke to her yesterday and she said that it could be the Riveroxoban. Has anyone heard of this?

This med has been a godsend for me and I've had no side effects at all. Very occasional hay fever but usually don't take anything for it, so I wouldn't link this to Rivaroxaban.
I don’t know why, I just turned up at my yearly consultation ( my INR I levels where all over the place, I even got a clot while being on warfarin and swapping over to Fragmin, my INR was 4.2, apparently I had got a DVT in the back on the knee) so Dr Cohen put me on Fragmin and all was great, my blood felt a lot thinner, my legs did not feel sluggish nor heavy, I had a lot of energy so Dr. Cohen decided to keep me on fragmin but by 8mths approx, my hair started to fall out and by 10mths i hardly had any hair. So Dr Cohen put me on riveroxoban. Since then my legs have been so heavy, swollen, also I was delevoping Thrombosis, in both legs. I don’t know why they decided to get rid of the (I call them surface veins), I think they are varicose veins, this made my legs worse. I did point out to Dr Cohen that Riveroxoban was meant for patients with an INR levels of 2-3, but she told me it was nonsense. Luckily my hair grew back, and was told it was the Fragmin. So I’m still in the same boat 15yrs on, and the longer it goes on the more worried I get. But although people tell you to change your Doctor, but Dr Cohen is one of the best and works along with St Thomas’s hospital. So really I’m in a catch 22. Sorry this is long winded, and also apologise to any that you have heard me say this so many times, but it’s worrying. Plus I may now a bit confused with things as I suffer with Brain fog, so I do apologise to all.
I’m also allergic to the compressor bandages, so they are no help.
I just need help!!!!!
Thank you absnot, I’m taking your advice for the thyroid test.
Kindest regards to all, I know there are many people worse of than myself, and I wish you all well.
I would investigate anything that could be topically irritating your skin, any new shower gels or shampoo's as any irritation would be worse in the hot weather, also any change in washing powder or anything? I find cool aloe vera gel calms down the itching I have for various reasons. MaryF
I’ve had a full patch test done over 3 days and I know all my allergies. I have to carry an epi-pen around with me, and yes I’m ellergic to most showers gels/shampoos/ costmetics/elastic/some foods/E320, which means no process foods, compression socks which most should wear if their no mobile enough and the list goes on. They call me The complexed woman lol, I have to laugh as I would cry. But I have a feeling this itch is to do with my Throid, so I’m going to have a blood test done ASAP.
Hope your keeping well?
Kindest regards and thank you for taking the time to help and advice.
Until I sorted my Thyroid out I had far more allergic reactions, naturally I did advanced private testing rather than the one size fits all GP's TSH test. MaryF
I had a patch test done for allergy’s and there are plenty of things that I’m ellergic to, I have to carry a epi-pen. The only thing that has changed is the weather, the cooler is it (although I still itch), it’s not as bad. But surely if it is the case, I would be itching all over? I do have cold showers to cool me down because of the body being hot and it does relief a little. Or the only other thing i can think of is I not long got a strawberry plant, but again I would have thought it would be all over. Also I have not spots or raised areas.
I’m due to have a blood test with the Dr *** next week, I’m hoping I can find out what this is, it’s driving me mad.
I have under active thyroid and my GP has not long lower my thyroxine. I wonder if that could be the case. Thinking about this, it must of been the time my meds was lowered.
I trust st Thomas's just I thought you couldn't have any of the new anticoagulants
Itchy back, my back gets itchy sometimes, just near the catch on my bra, there was a small dry patch so used hydrocortisone cream for a few days, improved
My hair loss improved when I was put on folic acid and ferrous gluconate for low iron stores. You would need a blood test first.
Thank you for your advice. I had a patch test, no dry patches. I’m having a blood test and will hopefully get the bottem of it, it’s driving me made. I have to carry an epi-pen because of many allergy’s.
