Intracerebral stenosis disappearing after Coumadin treatment?? Anyone have this??

I had terrible terrible headaches for years...then in 2000 had an occular stroke. The MRA showed severe stenosis (narrowing) of the arteries in my brain in the Circle of Willis. Oddly enough...it was NEVER mentioned to me and at that time I simply trusted the doctors and didnt get any of my records or reports. So to my suprise in 2004 when I had a repeat MRA it showed the stenosis was completely gone and that area had recanalized due to the Coumadin.

What is funny...but not really funny at all...is that the doctors who look at the MRA study from 2000 and then the one from 2004 now say that the 2000 MRA was wrong because this couldnt possibly happen. Now I will take this with me as well to every appt....

Has anyone else had stenosis of the brain...and if so what has your experience been????

I havent had stenosis but had a chronic infarct in 2006 and had a repeat MRI a few weeks ago that was completely normal! Typically old strokes show up on MRI's. No way to explain it other than the Coumadin or a miracle!!!

Hi julieej...

Thanks for the reply! I feel like I am the Lone Ranger on this one. I am VERY curious as to what your docs said about that MRI...or how they explained that to you?

Thanks so much!
