Azithromycin and APS?: I think I’ve... - Hughes Syndrome A...
Azithromycin and APS?
Why are you taking an antibiotic for a viral infection?
sorry Witty…. Awful flu surge this winter. Mean ole bully!
Other than keeping an eye on inr, ( if you are warfarin, I can’t remember what you are currently on) , the only antibiotics that need a watchful eye for if you have a connective tissue disease like Ehlers Danlos Syndrome/ Loeys Dietz syndrome, Marfans Syndrome are “levoquin” family antibiotics that have the risk of causing tendon injury/ damage/ rupture .
You might ask your doctor (s) if it would put you at any risk for that.
The issue I am speaking of specifically are genetic mutations like SMAD, TGFB3, etc.
( I have Loeys Diets Syndrome, TGFB3, the signaling doesn’t work to make to collagen effective. I’m starting to spontaneously tear tendons , etc…) So in can’t have this kind of antibiotic.
Yes. I have used it for strep throat. Took it at the same time as warfarin, lamotrigine, and all my other meds.
All antibiotics mess with my INR. I just get tested more. Another thing is take probiotics and eat sauerkraut if you can. Get your gut biome working again. I have never had pneumonia, be well.
