Currently have an UTI that family physician is prescribing Macrobid 2 x a day for 5 days. Wondering if anyone has taken this for an UTI and how it affected your INR or if your doctor prescribed a different antibiotic that interacted with warfarin better.
Thanks!

I would assume there would be warfarin interference as, at the very least, the antibiotic will mess with your gut biome. So.... get extra INR checks ( it will probably go up) and adjust food and dosage accordingly. Our blood value reactions to other meds are very personal. Me? ( Again, this applies to me, but not necessarily to you!) an advantage of getting strep throat and going on antibiotic is ... after a couple of days I get to eat liver snd onions to lower my INR. Hooray! )(Isn't it ironic that a rare someone who actually loves liver can't eat it due to its high K content?)
