Hey everybody, just a little update from my post the other day about giving up work....the stress I had before about whether or not it was the right thing to do has dissipated as I've spent the last 36 hours in hospital worried about another PE (VERY high d-dimer result) which turned out to be pneumonia (not pleasant) . It's made me realise that whatever happens I've got to take the time to sort myself out. Money will always be a worry but being around and healthy for my son if the priority.

Thanks to all those who replies to my first message, you were all very helpful.

I’m glad to here you are doing ok and not another PE! I’m still stressing the not working but physically it has helped me out I should have stopped sooner. Financially we are kinda screwed right now. But, things will get better and the lack of stress over my job has helped me a lot. I just have to learn to stop feeling guilty about it, after all I have no control over this disease and We have done nothing that brought it on! Now if I just get my plumbing fixed!!! It’s always something! lol

Hope u feel better soon!

We just have to take each day as it comes and as I say, “play the hand we have been dealt”. Beats the alternative!

Oh I'm sorry for having pneumonia but glad not a clot.

Good thing is, your now being treated.

Sometimes it takes a while to see the wood for the trees and yes your right, your son and family, AND YOU come first.

Get well quick x

Thank goodness that was picked up, it must have really added to how awful you feel. I think standing back from it all to work out your next move and rest is a very good idea. I hope your recovery continues in the right direction. MaryF
