Would anyone know of any interaction between Warfarin and aloe Vera tablets? Also, is it safe to take oral vitamin C? Many thanks

HI, I would steer clear of any new supplements until you have medical guidance, as even the simplest of things can cause a problem with Warfarin. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... Please do check with your doctor before taking vitamin C, I believe below a certain dose it is ok on Warfarin, but I would still opt for some medical supervision. MaryF

I too suggest never adding any supplement before consulting with your doctor. I also suggest keeping a food, med and activity log to note any interaction effect on INR.

I must admit in the 11 years since diagnosis and being on Warfarin, I’ve never thought to keep a log. I tend to ignore the condition, being mindful to avoid cranberries and grapefruit, but otherwise just do everything in moderation and carry on as normal.

I would seek guidance before starting/taking anything unusual, for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the advice

on the advice of my diagnosing hematologist I kept a log for a couple of years. He predicted that I would see strange, personalized correlations -which I did. Such as: even moderate sun exposure and slightly higher INR. I stopped after a couple of years as I had noted and internalized results.

I hope I’m there with my body too. You begin to feel when you’re not in range too

I’ll just add : make sure you keep a detailed daily chart (with columns) if you don’t already.

Other wise it will be very hard to see patterns.

I created my own and modeled it after several Coumadin clinic on line charts and modified it to my liking.

I saved the template into a PDF.

Horizontally it would be column titled left to right:

Day/ dose/INR/ VP or FP/ LMWH/Dose Change/ Notes

Without making notes (diary better word for it) after starting Warfarin I could not had been able to selftest at home with my triplepositivity and persistantly high titres.

As we tend to have a bad memory also it can be impossible to understand, learn and follow our body with APS without writing it down every day.
