Last night I thought I had broken my elbow not having done anything at all. The sharp pain was excruciating. I could not lift or move my arm comfortably without the pain spearing. Being me I kept trying. I went into a very hot bath feeling sorry 😐 formyself. The bath gave huge relief. Still very very painful I sat the rest of the night with a heat pack a very hot heat pack placed on the painful area. I took some pain killers and did evetually get to sleep. Next morning I could move the arm with only a little pain and through the day it improved back to normal., probably because I just used it regardless. I read what I could and it points to phlebitis, which I have had in my leg before. Again excruciating pain then next few days back to normal.
Do other APS SLE sufferers experience the same ???? I read an article the other week on this site about some foods preventing clotting and being natural blood thinners. Has anyone any good information on this please.
Linda from the sunny ☀️ Sunshine Coast Australia 🇦🇺 I included an image. Large veins were up bluey tint a redness to the area but no swelling seemed different to arthritic pain which I used to experience. All very strange. Gone in 12 - 18 hours

Hi, if this a new symptom you MUST go and see your GP and or Hughes Syndrome/APS consultnat asap. If you search in the top bar, Phlebitis, then you will see that there have been other posts on here before regarding this.
Some on here are on more alternative treatments, but in the main more conventional ones. Please don't add any supplements in to the mix if you are on Warfarin without a discussion with your GP/Consultant.
If not on any medication, I do urge you to get some good medical care, we have a list of Specialists on our charity website: ghic.world/
Thank you Mary. I will go and see my doctor and I have an appointment to see my immunologist 8 th May. I know it’s potentially serious so will make sue I get the best advice. I will also check out the list. Thank you for your prompt response much appreciated.
Yes, I have a lot of this. Sometimes it’s picked up on scans. Sometimes not. It’s called ,” migratory phlebitis” or ,” thrombo phlebitis.” by one of my Hematologists. It can be with some clots in the superficial vein. It can also be in asdociation with a deep vein thrombosis in arm - Brachial for me. If Brachial is occluded then the superficials will do a , “ work around” and , “ pick up the load.”
By vascular surgeon told me that ,” thrombo phlebitis “ is an outdated term. A clot is a clot. It’s either in a superficial or in a derp vein.
