Hi all, Just a quickie. We have small children visiting soon and they've just contracted chickenpox. I had it many moons ago but would it be best to reschedule do you think or am I being a wuss?

Hi I enclose the NHS link below, people can catch chickenpox from Shingles, but it does not work the other way around, so you should be ok, as far as I know. Once you have had chicken pox in most cases you are immune for life: nhs.uk/Conditions/Shingles/...

You should have acquired immunity to the virus now
Although the info tells us we cannot catch shingles from chickenpox, my husband just had shingles after a colleague had chickenpox - it seemed just a coincidence until a friend told me she too had shingles soon after her young son had chickenpox. Both of them have strong systems and are rarely unwell. So I would be cautious.
I think that's a smart move!
