I can't believe it's been a whole year since I last wrote on here, my last comment mentioned I was pregnant with twins (fourth time lucky) and I am happy to announce that my partner and I had two baby boys at 37 weeks on the 1/6/16 two beautiful healthy babies that I love with all my heart. They are 6 months old now and coming on leaps and bounds, can't believe how quickly they are growing and learning new things. I am so thankful for them, and for my consultant recommending the different medication to try. It wasn't a very pleasant pregnancy with injections and pessaries daily and horrendous morning sickness but I did it. I feel so blessed. However since having my babies I have developed sometimes agonising pain in my knees, feet, ankles, wrists and fingers. I ache on a daily basis, it's really making life difficult. I was told a while ago that I didn't need treatment for my lupus whilst not pregnant, but i wondered, am I constantly experiencing a flare up? can lupus get worse after pregnancy? Or is this just because my life has now changed and I'm bending down more etc.. any information or advice anyone can give i'd really appreciate. I'm not sure if this is the lupus or not but I am in pain. Everyday. Thank you x

Hi and big congratulations to you and your partner, wonderful news! On the subject of flares, very common after pregnancy, I had a huge one, also I am always like an old cracked record about reminding people to regularly check their levels of Vitamin D, Iron and B12 plus the Thyroid, this is important and levels being low can cause inflammation and fatigue. Your GP or consultant can order these for you. Your body has been through a lot and will probably calm down, but do check! MaryF

Thank you I'm going to phone my doctor tomorrow and make an appointment. It's almost like I've been told I have lupus and that's that. Nobody has told me anything about it and if I'm honest it's not really a subject most doctors have a lot of knowledge on. But I need to get this sorted, I thought it would pass but it's only got worse. Thank you for replying x

Hello, thanks for your reply, i do have both lupus and Hughes syndrome. And I don't really know much about them, I've reasbearched both so have an understanding of what their about but don't really understand how they affect the body and when. What do I need to say to my doctor to make sure I get the best answers and the correct checks done? Hope your well x
