Hi again, I posted a few weeks back to say I was expecting again but sadly I had a scan at 9 weeks and the pregnancy had not developed beyond 6.5 weeks. This could be genetic or down to dodgy blood flow. I'm thinking the latter as this is pregnancy number 5! I've been re-referred to the specialist haematologist (who is listed on the HSF website) to discuss heparin injections whist trying to conceive. This is what he says he advises his Hughes patients who have infertility and/or early losses. This is what I did when I fell pregnant with my daughter and had a totally normal pregnancy. The GP will not issue them until actually pregnant as so little is known in General Practice about the condition. I'm so frustrated and tired of lack of knowledge although I appreciate it is an emerging field of medicine. It's just such a brutal condition for many reasons. I'm so sad that yet another little life is lost. However, I won't give up as I didn't do before. Maybe one day the knowledge will be more widespread and the treatment more standard. Onwards and upwards! All the best, Catherine

I am so sorry to hear your news, it must be very tough for you right now, a referral to a specialist with a full working knowledge of the disease will help you immensely in the longer term, and hopefully they will look at your levels of thyroid, progesterone also as well as the B12, Iron and D I always bang on about, please draw family and trusted friends close to you, and allow yourself time to recover, best wishes to you. You need the help and support of a complete expert. MaryF

Thank you all so much for your kind comments. I won't give up as it has worked before. To be honest I have found the physical side more difficult this time, just a lot of pain and the process seems long! I will be sure to update again on this unique journey!
Hi the reason they don't look is cuz they don't go by Dr. Hughes all the time! Although they're are some in the U.K. That try! Some of My docs have never heard of him until I put it out there trying to educate my doctors! I had to educate my hemotologist cuz he told me I cud have my one between 2-3 cuz in a medical review he rated up on said it didn't matter! Well u can be sure I showed and recommended her read up on what the Man who discovers this disease says! He did and upped my into!!! All we can do here is try to educate our doctors without injuring their Great Egos! That's my way of turning a negative into a positive!!! Godspeed!!!
I am so very sorry for your loss! God Bless You and I pray all will work out for you! GODSPEED!!!
