My son went to the allergist and they did a blood panel. They called today and told me he has an elevated ESN level but wouldn't tell me over the phone what that meant. I now have to wait a month before I get in to see the doctor. Can someone please help me to understand what that means

Did you mean ESN or ESR? If ESR, this sort of explains it to you. labtestsonline.org.uk/under...

The only thing I can come up with related to ESN is related to brain functioning and a persons IQ level. Obviously this has nothing to do with blood!!! Unfortunately for you, it may just be that you will have to wait to see what the doctor has to say, unless the appointment is with the allergist, then you could make an appointment with your GP to get it explained to you.

if you are in USA ,i go and ask for my lab report as soon as the next day, it might be a law,it belongs to you. you could call the doctors office and say you need them, for whatever reason you can figure out. don't give up!

Hello. Our daughter just got her general blood test back this week. It showed her EOS was very high. The doc said this just meant her body was in a state of fighting allergies. I looked it up online. The items that fit her were allergies and eczema. There were other items such as asthma that it could also indicate that didn't fit her.

I hope this helps.
