Coming off blood thinners before birth.

I am now 35 weeks pregnant and have been on 150mg aspirin and fragmin throughout pregnancy. Baby is growing well and so the plan is to come off my aspirin at 36+2 but keep on the fragmin except the day I have my cervical stitch out at 36+4 then induce at 38+2. So in total the max I will be off my aspirin is 14 days. They are worried I will have postpartum haemorrhage if I do not stop the aspirin 10-14 days before birth. Does this sound normal? Did all you ladies have to stop aspirin before birth? Just so worried as the meds have been my crutch throughout this pregnancy.

I stopped the aspirin at 36 weeks. Like you was very worried but it stays in the system a bit for up to 2 weeks apparently. I'm being induced at 38 weeks. I'm still anxious about it all but trust the medical advice. Good luck! X

Thank you. I think it is last minute nerves. Everything seemed so straight forward when it was months to go. But now its days I am having second thoughts about coming off the aspirin.

I"m staying on asprin but coming off fragmin when labour starts. The hospital are not inclined to induce early though due to high rates of emergency C sections (locally?). I hate it when we all get told different things :(

Best of luck to you Starships and HopingforaBaby - I'm 32 weeks so keeping my fingers crossed for you both!
