Does anyone have small red pin prick type marks on their body?

I've had them for years on arms and stomach but wasn't sure what they were.

Hi Lewchar1: I am not a doctor, but I would say from your brief description it is Livedo reticularis rash. Just google the word reticularis rash and lots will pop up with photos you can compare your rash with the photos provided. Your doctor should know about it, but there is no special treatment for it other than "live with it". It is another indicator, however, so point it out at your next exam and see what your doctor says.

Good luck and warm wishes,

CanaryDiamond

Thanks I have heard of that. Ill do some research x

I found this tonight. byebyedoctor.com/livedo-ret...

I too have this and the Docs have been unable to identify it. It took a simple question here, a name and a quick web search to answer it for me. Thanks everyone. Another mystery solved.

My platelets are low, but my white blood cells are even lower (borderline leukopenia), and I get the little red dots. I know leukopenia to be a lupus symptom, and I do have a few lupus indicators but my blood doesn't test positive. I was thinking warfarin might affect platelets and blood cells, which research seems to indicate "no" or at least inconclusive, except for heparin-induced thrombocytopenia. I found this interesting (the last answer): answers.yahoo.com/question/...

Hi lewchar

Do you have any photographs at all?

Could possibly be campbell morgan spots? Spots of many types are associated with autoimmune conditions.

I also have those spots. Some are tiny and others look like large freckles. Red or purple freckles. Mainly on my chest and stomach and back. The ones on my arms and legs are tiny and barely noticeable. It's purpura or Petichea (both probably spelt wrong). I have the livedo 'rash' on knees mainly. Sometimes on ankles and lower arms. The spots are bleeding under the skin. Capillaries that have broken. Mine are permanent like little red tattoos. They don't change at all. Sometimes I notice they have a few friends join them lol

Do you notice they are always in the same areas in the body? I seem to have them in cluster and are always in the same area since childhood. I'm somewhat hoping that those great doctors would regularly check this forum and learn about these things we are discussing together..x

Petechiae. I get them too, usually on my feet, lower legs, and hands. They are caused by low platelets.

I had a real bad bout with a skin problem- look up " Petechiae "

When I got into a hot shower it got noticeably worse, and it itched

look it up under the Mayo clinic

mayoclinic.com/health/medic...

let me know if that doesn't look like what you have .

I have petechiae in my lower legs. Sometimes very red (hundreds of them) and especially in the morning almost invisible. Just now they are a bit brown/red.

It is not beautiful but they do no harm so I forget them. I have also reticularis. Also changing.
