Just wondering if this is a symptom of Hughes. Meds for IBS both in the past and now do nothing to ease the problem and it can be very uncomfortable.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I used to get this, but not any more, going gluten free was the answer for me. Mary F x
It is also possible to have gluten intolerance which will not show up as Coeliac Disease, but nevertheless exists: bmj.com/content/345/bmj.e7982

I had this problem for many years ( still do ) but was sent to see a specialist when I looked like I was 9 months pregnant turns out that in lots of cases people with hughes have very slow blood flow through mesenteric artery which is the blood supply to the stomach after eating the blood runs very slowly through the artery just at a time when you really need a good blood supply as a result the stomach becomes painful and bloated, answer small easily digested food at regular intervals no big meals any more problems then apparently they need to look closer at the artery, Gulp!!!
This has been very helpful. I bloat all the time and feel unwell when I eat. I feel sick etc,. I do suffer with IBS but maybe I should cut Gluten out of diet. Thanks
Andrea
Ditto above posts. And thanks Louisa, I now know WHY I feel awful if I eat too much. Before I went gluten free my weight could vary by as much as 5 pounds over the course of 1 hour. I too sometimes looked pregnant and I had a lot of various tummy pains.
Good luck.
Yes, I have changed to no meat and Gluten free diet. It has made me feel so much better from that awful bloat. Hope this helps. I started eating organic and eat no meat.
Wow- it appears this is so much more common than I thought. Thank you to all for taking the time to reply. I'll start looking into the dietary changes and hope the situation improves.
Hxx.
I am another one who bloats and has awful pains and nausea after eating. I can feel really weak and exhausted to the point of almost fainting too. Interesting that so many people say they have bloating as a problem. I had never linked it to the APS before but trying a gluten free trial sounds like a good starting point. Thanks for the question Squeezer although I'm sorry I can't be of any help to you.
