I think it can be both depending on your condition. I think weight may have something to do with it too.

I was on Clexane once a day had the injection in the morning, to give myself a boost ? I thought

I used Fragmin through both of my pregnancies and only had one injection a day. I was also taking aspirin at the time. This was over ten years ago, so I am a bit hazy on the detail of exact dosage. I just remember being thankful it was only one jab a day!

Hi Roymelt

I am on warfarin and 75mg aspirin.

I keep 2 sizes of Fragmin in the fridge: 5,000IU once a day for use when my INR drops out of my target range; and 15,000IU once a day when I need to come off warfarin for a surgical procedure or after a bleed. I take one shot a day and this has seen me through even open heart surgery, so my experience tells me that the effect must last for 24 hours.

I am on 10,000 iu once a day of fragmin so I certainly hope it lasts 24 hours!!

The information I have seen has said to stop fragmin 12 hours before a surgical procedure or dentistry so i am assuming that by 12 hours most of it has been metabolised. But best to as a medical person who knows.
