Does anyone take melatonin?
methadone , what are you crazy , just kidding, but but doest it come from the pineal gland, i would not know, sorry jet
I think melatonin interacts with Warfarin dosing. I take Valarian Root for sleeping trouble and that doesn't interact. It doesn't make you sleepy, it just sort of calms your brain down so that you don't just lay there and think about stuff, which is my problem.
Not sure if it affects warfarin. I failed on warfarin so they just put me on Lovenox 1.5mg/kg once daily for the moment. Pretty high dose.... I will try to be compliant for once. I have a history of being non-compliant and tend to make some docs bang their heads against the wall. Can't help it- seen too much and know enough to be very afraid of some of the meds.
We are looking at the other new anticoagulants but will take the Lovenox until sorted out. I like my new hematologist, and his office is across the street.
Jet I think one milligram of methadone would make me see god! I am that much of a lightweight.... Oh- the Radiologist yesterday lived in Hopkinton for 4 years and worked at Concord hospital!! Nice guy! I said "wicked" when we were talking and he caught on immediately I was from NH!!
hay crazy one, whats your doc name , if you choose to put it out here. thats rite you are the WICKED WITCH OF N.H.. hows every thing other than what your have already mentioned. as you know the methadone was a joke so you can pick on my typinp and spelling abilities. i cant wait for my x-mas gift , i think from you ,the typing/ computer literacy class !?!?!!! ,dont know how much will get done in the learning dept?????-----what do you think of that my pretty, you and your dog toe toe,--------------just me

Melatonin has been sugested to me via london hospital -
It is banned, however can be prescribed in certain circumstances if you agree to accept that is it not licensed, my son who had a migraine lasting 15 months and 4 days, causing blackouts, dizzy spells, full phonophobia and extreme pain, could not sleep. the paediatrician and neurologist prescribed this for him, it worked a treat as we worked towards 'breaking' the headache... also my friend's child who has autism and can't sleep also has this.... it is on a named patient basis for extreme circumstances. Anyone have any info on why it was banned there?
I looked it up on WebMD, but live in the US and not sure about practices in England. It might be worth it to look it up though. Also be sure to connect with your Doc!!!
Its avail here in US for sure- you can get it in most stores actually. Just wondering the reasoning/rationale behind the bans- do they consider it unsafe and is this based on experiences, studies, etc....
77- doc recommended it, and I am also a RN
Ok found this after posting my last message the question was asked on Yahoo QA seession see link and i copied the answer given

Every country has the right to ban any product that their government deems is inappropriate, harmful, or just not wanted. The UK decided quite some time ago to have Melatonin on that list, unfortunately. It's along the same lines that Australia bans Growth Hormone and the US bans Marijuana... there are a lot of people that don't like the idea and don't see any harm to it, but the government banned it. If you wanted to change that, you could talk to your local political offices to see what you can do (sign a petition, write a letter, or whatever) to get it allowed.
And yes, it is illegal to order some from the U.S. (or elsewhere) and have it shipped to you, just like getting any prescription from somewhere else without a prescription. If someone tried, there could be possible problems of mail fraud (an illegal substance sent through the mail), you could get in trouble with the law, and the person sending it might be in trouble (I'm not sure on that part of it, though).
As stupid as it sounds, if you were caught with Melatonin without a prescription, you could have it confiscated and/or you could be arrested (depending on a few factors). If you can't get a doctor to prescribe it, I would go for a different alternative like Valerian, Chamomile, Hops, 5-HTP, or another supplement that's good for sleep and relaxation. In any case, I wish you luck

I take it on occasion to get a more restful sleep.
Hi! DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE AN AUTO IMMUNE DISEASE is now what my bottle reads. I have used it for years to help with sleep. When I read up on it - it said something about it irratating the immune system if you have a auto immune disease. So I have stpped using it. Watch out for anything to support immune system. Those of us w/ autoimmune diseases DON'T want to STIMULATE it. debi in fl with APS
