Does anyone else feel more drained than normal when having a period?
I am on again, I have had a ten break between then, I had the coil fitted two months ago, but still getting very heavy periods.

Yup. The first day is the worst. I'm absolutely worthless. I assume my hormones are out of whack, but we can't have estrogen and each time I've had progesterone supplements, I've bled like crazy! So, I give myself permission to surrender that day to the sofa.
The downside I have to work. I come home about 4:30 and go sleep most days. Headache from hell too.
I agree...taking "Aunt Flo" to work is awful! Thankfully, I'm pretty regular and can schedule around mine, but not always. Hopefully, you can get some rest and relief!
I had the coil fitted so they would slow down.or stop. The pain in the head makes things a whole lot worse, and its no fun missing half of the day because of sleep.
Yes me too. Its nice to know im not alone! I feel incredibly weak and im not 'fit for' anything! Bad months i feel faint and dizzy. I have learnt that i have to snack on those days and sugar does help!!!
I am aloud to have a sugery drink on the shop floor if I need it. I can go in the back yo have a drink or eat something.
Work is good about it, though the new manager on the floor didn't know and told me off in front of customers, I took her in the back and pointed out to her that telling me off on the shop floor is not a good thing and also asking me why a drink is there instead of taking it and pouring it away would have been a better idea. I spent half an hour off the shop floor having to go boots to get another build up drink to have on the shop floor. Should have made the manager go get it.
I struggle to work when I am so tired, without the hassle someone hampering my working day. I work through my lunchbreak so have to have something on the shop floor to keep me going.
*sugary
Yeah I'm no good when its my time of the month. Totally shattered, and dizzy, and like younkaren, I have to go to work, would love to be able to surrender to it! As a P.S I have the coil, and it took my body a few months to get back in a semi regular routine, I bled very badly after first getting the coil, and was on and off for a few weeks, it did eventually settle, but I did think good god what have I done!, because I was in a lot of pain, with no regularity, but it does get better Sarahx
Hi there, Yup periods are heavier and more draining than ever, the first or second day is always the worst with cramps and headaches. I live with an ex navy man and the navy boys call it "On Blob"....and its so apt, cos it really feels like being on blob!! Probably thats a navy secret that I shouldnt have let out!! Funny and apt thought!
Getting worse every month. As a kid (before diagnosis!) I tried different contraceptive pills - one that worked was a 6 month injection as my periods stopped all together. Now that's not an option as I want to get pregnant, but after 6 years of trying, well I'm new to this sight and very relived its not only me.
Sympathies - it makes me flare for up ten days before hand and then one week of nasty problems on top, to not ideal as I normally then catch a virus or an infection. I am hoping to either turn into a crone or a man soon, in order to have an end to this! Mary F x
Hi, yes i feel very drained around period time, have suffered endlessly since the day they started when I was a girl, even back then I remember longing for the change and wishing my life away. Now i dread that migraine, its the sign of worse things to come. It lasts throughout the period and on day four I'm beside myself. I too have infections associated with my period and (excuse the phrase) but the blood that comes out is not normal ever. Period pain...I'd have labor pain before it....just terrible ! The fatigue is awful, debilitating. By the time I think I'm over one period it's almost time to go again. sorry you are struggling to
What is normal? I've seen so many gynecologists and they seem to say - normal for you. As for the pain, if I ever go through anything worse for any length of time I swere I'll chew my wrists, but doctors say - yes, but is that normal for you?! When I try and talk to other women, they all say that theirs are a nightmare so I feel stupid insisting that this can't be right. Anyone got any good tips to take the edge off?
