My ectopics are, the cardio says, supraventricular, but I don't see anyone posting about this type - is it the same as PAC or PVC? or something different? He saw on my Reveal monitor evidence of them, and said they were infrequent - but I'm feeling loads of them, certainly not infrequently. Will it turn into afib? I'm getting very worried

supraventricular ectopics
I had a supra-ventricular which made life at the start not to bad for me, it was controlled by medication with real bad days when I would end up at A&E by Ambulance after being taken ill at work. Life would be OK again for a while then again time after time in A&E, till in the end my medication stopped helping me and in 2013 I have my first Ablation which was successful. However I later got told that I had another issue - which my hospital Heart consultant thinks was the cause of my supra-ventricular and than I had to have a second Ablation for AF, which was successful, but I do still have a challenge with my heart to this day. Which is being left for the moment to see how or if it develops....
Just go with your heart don't let it rule your life or worry you, as this I found can make things worse, just relax with it learn to manage it and it will control you.

Rhonda
Thanks, Rhonda. I can usually cope pretty well, but it's been so bad lately I feel I'm back at the beginning when I was hovering over my pulse all the time. It's difficult to ignore when you feel your heart stumbling and stuttering... I'm trying, not very successfully just now. I'm sure it will pass, it's been going on for years.Groups like this help so much!
Your welcome. Groups like this do help. I have found it to be very helpful. It is difficult to ignore I had that when mine decided it was no longer being helped with my medication and what then turned out to be my first Ablation. Hopefully things will get sorted quickly for you...
What was it like, having an ablation? It sounds scary. Does it cure it? If it kills off a bit of the heart muscle, isn't that dangerous? I'm not sure that that is what happens, I may be totally wrong.
It's not scary having an ablation, just a bit uncomfortable - the heart muscle are all fine its the elyria side of the heart that they are as you put it killing off. Like all operations there is always a risk element to them. It can cure some people and some still have the issue as well, so depends. My was cured for my SVT and then later had to have another ablation for AF which was in the upper part of my heart..
PAC is supraventricular (A=Atrial in the acronym)
PVC is ventricular (V=Ventricular in the acronym).
PAC itself, without other arrhythias is told to be benign, but in afibbers, may predict the onset of an afib event.
