Hi , about 2 years ago i had a cryo-ablation which didnt seem to work..although i managed to do my daily stuff okay, i was never 100%.
Recently i had a bout of Dizziness etc, shortness of breath , i went to see my specialist, and instead saw a member of his team. He confirmed that i should have another ablation,, but said it would cure rapid heart rate (200bpm on recent holter test), but it wont affect Ectopic beats.
My heart races at times, which i dont notice but its the Ectopic beats that concern me..
Does anyone know if there is a way to stop these? surgery or otherwise..as they are now constant and are very hard to cope with..
Thanks for any replies.

I don't know how you cope with them. I have them too, and like you my heart races at times. Am constantly waiting for monitors and appointments which rarely seem to happen and they tell me to go away as they don't want to do anything yet. I have a severely leaking pulmonary valve, am 65 so I feel pretty hopeless, made worse by the fact that I M on my own trying to cope with it.
Thats awful, i hope you are okay... think the best thing is to try and relax as much as you can,,,i find when i have the Ectopic beats ..which seems to be near all of the time now, i keep taking big gasps of fresh air..?
I do this automatic..and sounds like i am sighing all the time...even my kids go ..whats up dad.. as if i,m annoyed at them..but actually im just taking in fresh air..crazy.
I hope you get sorted out soon and cant imagine what it must be like to cope on your own,,,
Good luck..and if anything happens or i find out something that might help, i,ll let you know...and if you want to chat again, just let me know..x
I find I need to take big gasps of fresh air as well.. Something to do with not getting quite enough oxygen or anxiety I guess. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
I had my first SVT about a year ago. I noticed I started taking big gasps of air about a year before that. My ecg appears normal (when I am not having a SVT) When I feel the need to take in a big breath I am not aware of my heart doing anything unusual at the time...
I had a chest x ray and blood test and everything seems 'normal' for want of a better word. My blood oxygen levels are 99%.
My own doctor thinks the need to gasp for air, (or air hunger if you want to google that) is down to anxiety. It happens most when I have not slept well or drank a lot of alcohol over the weekend.
Sorry you are having symptoms. Did they give you a reason why an ablation will not stop stop the ectopic beats? I had extremely bad PVCs with bad symptoms but instead of my heart racing my heart would slow down to 40 bpm. I had an ablation and now only get a few noticible PVCs a day. Ask more questions when you see the doctor again.
Hi Kam, No he didnt explain much..it was his understudy and he said Ablation only stops the rapid heart beats..a not the Ectopic ones ..as i dont notice the rapid beats and its the ectopic ones that concern me, i thought whats the point in another ablation if it wont correct it..please tell me he,s wrong
