An old clavicle break, need strapping?

I broke my clavicle on my right shoulder, ten years ago, after a epileptic seizure, but certain times of the year, usually wet and cold, it b####y hurts, the muscles and tendons! The right shoulder blade can 'pop' out of joint, sometimes I do not notice it, but I know I am 64 years of age, this undoubtedly will become more painful! Would permanent [orthopaedic?] strapping be recommended on the shoulder, or would this cause 'frozen shoulder' or something worse? I write a lot so am using my right arm a lot, my epilepsy seems to be behaving itself, I have Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and since April 2018 the introduction of my new medication I have had one seizure. Any advice would be very welcome?

The MPN systemic inflammation doubtless makes this worse. I would not consider any surgical intervention until all other options are exhausted. Based on having torn labrum and rotator cuffs more than once, I would suggest heavy investment in physical therapy first. Even if you do end up opting for the surgery, strengthening the shoulder will be a benefit. You might consider massage therapy as well, it really helps me. You do need a very skilled therapist for both types of therapy.

It might also be worth considering somethin like Qigong. The best way to keep moving is to keep moving. Again, if you want to do that you need to find someone who really knows what they are doing - not just some quack who puts on a Tai Chi uniform. You need a Sifu, not a duck.

Hope you find a shoulder solution.

Thanks Hunter, just spotted my old mate Nick Maurice is in business again, a qualified chiropractor what he does not know about my cadaver would fill a postage stamp! Had stopped going to him after my chest smash in 2017. Thought he was out of business due to pandemic, thankfully wrong, [still getting good Google reviews from 2 weeks ago!] Have known him since 2007, he is a classic! Perfect for my shoulder!🤗🤗🤗🤗👍👍
