Structural rib problem!

I have JME epilepsy, since I was 14, [I am 66] when I was ten I had meningitis, an offshoot was my pigeon chest [deformed chest] I have had over 400+ seizures, whereby have broken every rib in my rib cage, at least once! Due to this my ribs 'dislocate' all the time, especially in sleep! I find it extremely uncomfortable to sleep, which can affect my breathing? Just to put into the mixture, I have HPT high pain threshold, which does not help my brain trying to diagnose how serious pangs of pain actually are? I cannot sleep on my back due to a partly removed benign tumour growth on my spinal cord in 1997. Always trying to get a particular adaptable mattress to my structural rib problem, various pillows have been used to varying degrees of temporary success usually failure! Even writing this down parts of my sternum can dislocate, a sudden CLICK as it attempts to fit its usual place, rather disconcerting to people near me? Always too complicated for my GP's as they scratch their heads in disbelief, no help there?

Hello Adlon

Wow you really have had and have so much to contend with. Some of what you say makes me feel like my eyes are crossing just hearing it and trying to imagine what it’s like. I’m afraid I don’t have any suggestions for you right now but I can promise I won’t forget what you’ve had to say and if I see any beds during my own never ending search for the right one I will definitely be dropping you a message.

Best of luck with getting some helpful suggestions and some decent shut eye.

Thanks Bmw640 I have no conceivable quality of life, I am wheezing like a donkey, I am 'recovering from PC radiotherapy' when they feel like giving me some sort of results, apparently I was "caught early" but it has seriously aggravated my " Structural rib problem" I don't have any conceivable choice!

Just been to GP actually due to, too much exercise, gardening etc, a bit too ambitious, body began to complain, never much of an exercise freak, I have 'structural problems' but as it says on my tattoo on my right forearm, patienta vincit [patience endureth] (family motto) I'm just going too wait a bit longer for my body to heal a bit better, no long term cure?

ps I thought they were going to prescribe myself superglue and duct tape🙄🤭🤭

Thanks, a bit chaotic, new health centre starting up at present, but apparently could get PC tests early after recent happenings, have meditation hopefully can get into now? Although running a bit too extreme!

No health blood tests bad, severe exhaustion, liver bad [thats a new one🙄] specialists ringing up from all the place, [can't even have a coffee in peace😤] looks like will be visiting old health centre practice a few more times? Try to make quick joke, not appreciated🥴 not looking good!

Really sorry to hear that hun, I hope you get some improvement somehow in something at least. I’ve got my plate up to the ceiling full so I’ll say goodbye now as I’m struggling to cope with my lot and not fairing very well at that. Good luck with everything. Bm
