If a dentist xrays a persons jaws, are the results automatically passed onto the GP's patients medical records? I had a double seizure in 2018, fractured my skull, never scanned or MRI by NHS, but my jaw was xrayed three days after the incident, by my dentist.
My eyes were scanned in March this year by my optician, later that month I was diagnosed by my GP as having Diabetes 2. Today 21st December I had my eyes scanned, routine due to having diabetes, surely my opticians scanning me in March would have some sort of contribution to this? Are they ;opticians ; dentists ; and General practitioners under the same umbrella, this sort of medical information SURELY must ALL be put into my NHS records??
GPs, opticians and dentists normally run their own businesses and they are suppliers to the NHS. Although some do work in hospitals and are employed by the NHS. Most people think GPs work for the NHS, they don't. Letters may be written to your GP out of courtesy.
Thanks piglette, might explain why everything is so disjointed!🥴🥴
I get so angry about the awful medical computer system or systems we have around. None seem to talk to each other. The district nurses were saying how wonderful there system was, it might be, but no one else can access it!
It might be "wonderful" but how many times is their "system" updated or upgraded, probably stuck on Windows 7 or Windows vista [or Windows 98]?🤪🥴🙃
I think it is Windows XP and faxes!
