Caregiver support request

I’m living in southern Florida and I’m a caregiver seven days a week for an elderly woman with PAD. I was wondering if there’s any groups that talk about healthy cooking, meal planning and time to have fun as part of a day. I sometimes fear that I’m burning out as I stress myself with anxiety and worry and then can’t seem to enjoy any me time. I want to thrive vs survive and honestly work a balanced day, exercise and eat and serve healthy meals.

Hello are you on the positive wellbeing forum I think that would be good for you too I have made good supportive friends there and on here are you on the care site also on here called care community. I'm not sure on your exact circumstances but can you not have couple days off we all need a break and to get that balance in life you do need to have more me time I'm trying to get that balance myself and limit my time on here now, I find walking out in nature and taking nice photos gives my mind a break it's hard right now as winter and dodging people but also cookery is a great way to feel good and eating healthy take care and it be early morning 2 now I think for you, Mandy xx

When you join if you introduce yourself as new and it will invite people in probably the best time would be our time about late morning early afternoon when people are up I mean most of my friends I made on here and be about 7 or 8 in morning for you some posts may not be seen by everyone it depends how far back they go and how many new ones come on but they will be seen take care Mandy xx

Good morning MarleneCares firstly welcome to HE and the HU communities as you are far from alone in your circumstances. As for meal planning this is down to your favourite foods and time for preparing food, personally being a foodie is a life saver during the pandemic as I enjoy cooking and baking.

Living through a pandemic causes everyone anxiety in one way or another and we have to find coping methods that work for us and I distract myself by doing something positive that needs my full attention then my fears about the future are forgotten as I'm self absorbed in the present and my task.

As Mandy rightly says the PWB community was set up by HU to support all members during the lockdown and pandemic. We have an eclectic mix of members from many HU platforms and you will indeed get lots of support and can talk about your needs lifestyle hobbies pets and desires and needs. please see:

I wish you well and admire all carers for their selflessness so I assure you that you will get lots of support from us. So please remember that you are not alone and stay safe and well remembering we are on the cusp of beating this insidious virus.

Jerry. 🌈😊
