My neighbour gave me a bag of their home grown cooking apples so I cooked them and will freeze some. I added some to a jar of organic sweet mince meat it was very expensive but is very nice and not nearly as sweet as supermarket ones.
The crumble I made with 60g ground almonds 170g plain gluten free flour 110g butter 50g brown sugar 450g sweet mince meat 4 cooking apples mixed spice and a little sugar but I do like sharp fruits. I added flaked quinoa with flaked almonds to the topping for an added nutritional punch.
This is a really easy and tasty alternative to mince pies...π
