Hello Scottishgranny73 Firstly welcome to the community, now I think that you need to see what your consultant says tomorrow as so many things can affect our weight and I imagine they'll check your thyroid gland out.
I'm sorry that I can't give better advice as you've taken dieting very diligently which is commendable. We will give you lots of emotional support on here so good luck with your appt tomorrow. š
Hi thank you so much for your reply yeah I will wait and see what is said tomorrow and keep going with the healthy eating thing is I feel great for eating better just not shifting lol šx
I hope your appointment goes ok tomorrow. Glad you're feeling great for eating better. Maybe the stress of waiting for your appointment has affected your weight. Hopefully you'll be able to discuss things with your Consultant, and I hope it goes well.
Glad you've joined the Healthy eating forum and hope all goes well, and you enjoy participating here.
Thank you , and the forum has been great Iām hoping itās just stress xx
Hello I'm sorry your so distressed with all this, I think it could be hormonal changes it's normal to put weight on at this time of life things will settle down with healthy diet and exercise, what tablet are you on, sorry just replying only just seen your post, how did your hospital appointment go,? I had to see a specialist about my hormones as had problems, with periods not with weight, she changed my h r t I'm on low dose patches she said the doctor had put me on the wrong one and shouldn't be having periods at my age. I know the contraceptive pill makes some people put weight on.sometimes it just takes time to adjust to the change of life, I wish you well let me know how you got on š¤
Hi the doc put me in norethisterone was originally put on them for 10 days but Iām on my 3rd set think there dangerous for blood clots my appointment went ok have to wait 4 to six weeks for biopsy results she also fitted me with another coil She said my old one could have fell out or went up into pelvic area so have to go back for X-ray and possibly key hole surgery I havenāt tried hrt I donāt know much about it as I have no one to help or ask my mum passed away when she was 49 , I do feel better with drinking more water and following healthy diet but as you said it will prob settle down itās all a learning curve , howās your period now I hope itās settled
Whoād be a woman š¬šthank you for your text xx
Hello I'm sorry your mum's no longer with you, I started perimenapause about your age I used to have a coil but was having problems they recommended I had it removed I had had it for many years prior,no problems at all it made my periods regular, they said I had fibroids and may be pressing on my bladder i only went on h r t as about 3 years ago age 53 I was having bad hot flushes and we're keeping me awake and other problems too I had tried prior to this more natural help soya products a pint of soya milk a day it helped a bit for a while but things got worst including anxiety as I have no family history of cancer I decided to go on h r t so as there are risks I wouldnt recommend it unless you are having bad symptoms like me and of course any problems your concerns about your tablets discuss with doctor, sometimes coils can come out do you know if it had a hormone in it some coils do, I find walking is good for my mental well-being and physical cycling and I used to swim yoga is good for relieving stress and muscle toning I eat a few nuts and sultanas this helps my sugar craving and to feel full then Im not thinking about food all the time, I also drink chamomile tea its good for stomach and is relaxing, I don't have periods now so at least that's one good thing about menapause, the best thing you can do is gather as much info as you can on it all my friend sailed through hers but she did put weight on but she controls it by eating regular healthy meals and exercise, I'm under weight due to stressfull past few years but I've put a bit on lately ive always been the same a bit of worry and I loose it but I'm usually always on the go, lately with the virus I've got a bit lazy as I'm on semi lockdown with my mam she's 81 with coronary heart disease, hope you get a good night's sleep šI'm snuggling with my cat pixie x
Aw it sounds like you have had a time with it Iāve been drinking great tea with lemon or just plain water not keen on chamomile yeah I think I will keep soldiering on it was the marina coil I think that has the hormone in it your friend sounds extremely lucky sailing through it ,thatās me just in bed with my hot water bottle I hope you have a lovely sleep with pixie X
