Just a Quick Curry Tonight

Dear All,

I used some, pre cooked, Pork- from the other day- along with some onion and a Jar of 'Jalfrezi' Sauce- and made a quick Curry. I 'did' some boiled rice, with it. Just as well it WAS a 'quickie'.... I was 'up to my eyeballs' in Ironing!

Considering that, the 'main content, was from a Jar.... it Was actually fairly good. I normally ONLY use 'Jars' for Bolognaise- or Chilli Con Carne- and then only when I don't have 'enough' Tomatoes- or chilles. I might have to do, some 'Real Cooking' tomorrow, I have some New Potatoes and some 'Sring Greens' that need using up.

No Harm, in the occational 'Quick' Meal.... so long as you Don't Do 'It' too often.

Dear Luna_Child,

A 'Jalfrezi' is a Fairly Hot Curry, that tends to contain the 'Hotter' spices. If you buy a Jalfrezi Curry, when out, they can range from Fairly Mild- I though this was 'Supposed' to be Hot- to 'I've had Vindaloos 'Milder' than this! In a 'Proper' Resturant the flavour, should be, 'Hot Yet Flavourful'. If you prefer 'Something', perhaps different to Madras, but still with a 'Kick' this is the Curry for you. I believe these are Normally made from Halloumi cheese or, very rarely Chicken. Most GENUINE Asian Food is 'Vegetarian', purely because they don't- or didn't- have much access to much meat.

I would Recommend it, if only, so you know how it tastes..... You may, Very Well, like it!

In that case Luna_Child, I would recommend a Korma Curry.... Very Little Spice, mainly Coconut Milk in a 'Creamy' base- I believe that there is Almond in there too. This Curry, lends itself, to Chunks of chicken- or other Light meats.... and, I would imagine- Haloumi too.

So, so long as your not allergic to 'Nuts' this could be for you.... Enjoy.

I DID have the Spring Greens, well about half of them, along with some 'lovely' Butcher Made Pork Sausages and New 'skin on' Potatoes. I followed it with some Fresh Strawberries, with Jelly and Fresh Brewed coffee, to finish.

Tomorrow I'll see how I 'feel'.... I might make a Chili-Con-Carne, I might just Defrost a Bolognaise- perhaps I'll 'Find' something I have forgotten about (I wonder if i have any Meatballs left......). I'll see
