Like many people during lockdown, my family and I have really embraced long walks and being out and about. As most food places start to open up I want to resist falling into old habits of buying food when we’re out (mainly processed stuff) any good suggestions on healthy foods that can be taken out and about? My go to before was always sandwich, crisps, fruit and sweets etc

Picnic foods
Hi, I follow low carb so my go to would be scotch eggs, cheese and nuts x
Have you tried two hard boiled eggs and a Greek yogurt on the side? Protein will keep you fuller longer and easier to have on the go.😀👍🌈
I love carrot and cucumber sticks with some hummus! Definitely healthier than crisps (which are definitely my weakness too!) Quorn do nice cocktail sausages too but they're obviously processed.
Hi Catchat21
You've got some great suggestions already, and I've found an article from BBC Good Food which is entitled 'Healthy picnic recipes' that also looks very tasty and might give you some more ideas:

Maybe post your picnic here, if you want to - it would be lovely to see it.
Great that you and your family are enjoying long walks and being out and about, and hope you enjoy your picnics.

Big juicy Gala apples, Boiled eggs in their painted shells, celery chunks, soggy cheese and tomato sandwich, Wild trail energy bar and a drink of something without a shed load of preservatives.
