Liquid diet and fatty foods

Hi all. I can't stop eating fast food and all that I can think of doing is a liquid diet, but I weigh far too much. I weigh about 100kg and recently lost weight.

Oh, I'm 26 years old, have special needs and on medication for my special needs.

Why can't the world stop providing fatty foods?

Hello Yellowbecks are you unable to cook for yourself, or unable to have someone else cook nutritious meals for you?

Just trying to understand what you mean when you say you cannot stop eating fast food. What kinds of meds do you take? (If you don't mind sharing)

xx Jill

All the problems emanate from outside. You have to find the solutions from inside you.The world does not give you solutions and you should not create problems for yourself.

I understand what you are getting at. What would you recommend to find solutions from inside?

Well,I can only share what I have experienced.I have come across a concept called constant, choice less awareness of what all you come across on a day to day experiences. It means you should practice being aware of everything around and inside you.It should not be on and off thing but constant and instantaneous. And,such awareness should not be with a sense of judgement. In that observation and awareness, you should not have any choice. That means you are observing things as they are without injecting your past, prejudices, expectations etc.into your observation.Suppose you have a habit that you would like to get rid of.If you judge yourself for that unwanted trait you may hate that trait but that does not really help you to get rid of that unwanted thing. But,if you are just aware of the problem as and when you are going through that experience, without judgement, you will come out of that particular trait. This happens because, your mind is clear for one thing, and on the other, you are really have a desire for that change. You have to practice this concept and I am sure you can succeed.I am not sure I am clear enough, but the post was certainly long.Sorry for that.

It sounds almost a bit like meditation but being active. How easy is it to train yourself to do this? Do you just do it for 5 minutes a day and build up?

All the time. There is no time table for life's experiences. This concept is from a person who was hailed as a world teacher at an young age.Good thing about him is,he will not give us any answers but makes us think about concepts that he puts forth.I agree with you that it is a kind of meditation.Personally, sitting in a peaceful corner and trying to control/divert/train the mind does not appeal to me.Please think about it.

It's tough, but you can do it. If you were diabetic you'd have to choose your foods carefully, it's no different when you're overweight. It's just getting to the point where you feel it's okay to choose. It is tough that all that temptation is out there! But maybe give yourself a little reward that's not so healthy when you hit your targets? I aim for a cupcake for every fourteen pounds I lose :)

Hiya Yellowbecks, i know, its really tough. the food industry pushes cheap rubbish food that is fatty, salty, sweet and of very dubious nutritional value.

and they often claim that their fast food is healthy and it isn't. The portions are huge and the pricing doesn't help.

and it is very addictive

but you can make a change, you can do this!

you could try to eat more real fresh fruit and veg, gradually your taste buds will change and it will get easier and easier.

a cookery or healthy eating course will give you some ideas.

often it isn't difficult. Check out videos on you tube as there are some great and easy ideas.

and don't worry if you have some fast food and don't blame yourself, just keep trying to make healthier choices and keep positive

You can do this 😁 one step at a time

Have you tried making it easier to eat healthy foods?

I have a Jars of nuts, seeds, fruit, & dark chocolate on my kitchen table, so they're the first things I see to eat.

It's important to provide your body with the nutrients it needs to function properly. Take a look at Chris Kresser's website for free information. He writes a lot about good gut health created by the bacteria we have inside our digestive system, & how this influences what we want to eat. Good food=good bacteria & better health. Junk food=bad bacteria & illness. It's important to stop eating fast food & junk, so that you don't get worse health conditions like diabetes, or create the conditions where your body develops heart disease or cancer.

Fat does not make you fat. If you leave out gluten altogether you will already notice a big change. Leave out as much as possible of processed foods and everything else with PUFAs and the effect will be even greater.😊

Sugar makes you fat. Most things contain some sugar. That's why eating fresh produce and low in sugar is healthy.

You are right: fat is not the villain. It's the combination of fat, sugar and carbohydrates (especially processed ones). Try to prepare your own food from scratch then you'll know exactly what you are eating. So much simpler when you are in control. Good luck.

I would recommend taking a look at Dr Doug Lisle humorous TedX talk. It might help you to understand what is going on in your mind.
