Making the most of the lockdown and staying safe.

β€’17 Replies

Happy Easter folks,

I am shopping locally and using my corner shop and yesterday I walked to my neighbouring village as it is very close and I walked home the pretty way by crossing the village green and taking the forest path.

On the way home I met a smashing neighbour who bakes and makes vegan chocolate and eats gluten free so I told her about our friends on VFL and I'm so pleased that Jesse has joined us.

Life is what we make it and this pandemic is scary for all of us but life goes on.

It's funny how our values have changed as I was as pleased as punch to buy a cucumber and cauliflower from a local shop and had a really nice walk home.

Here's a photo I took of the path that I took home. So life us what we make it and I shall enjoy my cauliflower for dinner tonight so all good.

Take care everyone and please stay safe.

Jerry. 😊

Hi Jerry

A fabulous photo and I do think the smaller things in life are going to mean more to a lot if us when this is over.

Thank you for introducing Jesse, I'd live to know how she makes Vegan chocolate.πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‰

Enjoy your garden, forest and local shop.

Stay safe and take care.

Alicia 😁😊

Hey everyone!

Thanks to Jerry for introducing me, and thanks to Alicia for welcoming me!

I make vegan chocolate with cacao butter, cacao powder, maple syrup and a pinch of salt.... I do it all stove top and make various variations like orange, a vegan β€˜roll’ with a date caramel filling, fruit and nut... all the classics!

If you like I can post the recipe and method. It’s really tasty, not bitter at all and no refined sugars.

Happy Easter everyone!

Jess

I make a very similar chocolate with coconut oil, it's delicious! So handy making your own when you get a craving :)

Hi BigJessie78

Welcome to the forum and it's lovely to have you on board.

Oh wow and yes please re posting the recipe as I am able to eat all of the above (I have IBS and am following the low fodmap diet at the reintroduction stage and have been having problems with so many foods). Where do you buy your cacao butter please?

A very happy Easter to you and once again, welcome.

Stay safe.

Alicia :)

Hi Jerry

It really is time to see what's important to us and as far as I'm concerned that's health and happiness.

Yes I left hubby at home cementing underneath the shed in the garden, he actually built the shed and I'm so fortunate as he's so good at DIY.

Hope you've had a good day.

Alicia :)
