Hi, I just saw this post on this section of the cite which is so exciting to see. This was my first reply , " Thank you for this info. This is the first one I saw on this Healthy Eating section of this cite. I don't have COPD but I do know dairy had a huge effect on mucous developing in my lungs during ESRD and on dialysis as fluid builds up in lungs. I since had my transplant but ty for this post. Plus I am excited to see this Healthy Eating section! I was given 5 to 10 yrs before dialysis and I made it to 10 yrs thanks to NKF who I contacted when I first found out I had CKD and I followed their information which led me to discovering a Renal Nutritionist. Diet and Exercise is key. Diet though is number one to all diseases in my opinion. NKF taught me how to eat and is why I am alive today!" No truer words I have spoken than what I have about NKF. Their generosity and information is all the riches in the world! Diet changes your entire body then helps you begin to build muscles exercising. This cite will save lives!
Excited to meeting you all!

Hi EYatNKFSvdMYLIF thanks for introducing yourself and we are pleased that you've joined us we are a friendly bunch of foodies, we have lots of Topics and I hope that you enjoy being a member of the forum.
Thank you so much Activity2004! I am on a laptop and don't know yet where the smiley's are here ha ha but thumbs up is sent back to you! I haven't seen those topics yet but thank you for the info I definitely will. I did come across some how the Eat Well - NHS which I book marked. I can't wait to check out the recipes and other meals/snacks. I know now after Transplant I had to switch to a heart healthy diet but with that I have to be careful as recently it elevated my potassium which my meds already do. That is why labs are so important because it hasn't been high before but I did however make recent changes in my diet and I eliminated them. Labs keep you in check when you are better and able to have more in your diet and you get use to eating a certain way regularly. So I will be checking up on your topics especially the one you recommended. Have a great day!
Thank you, EYatNKFSvdMYLIF for your reply. There are different types of meals/snacks for different diets ( gluten free, LCHF/LCHP, etc.).
Yes, when labs do some blood work and they come back in a good result, it makes a person feel better.ππ Iβm type 1 and have to get my A1c (3-4 month blood test for 90 days) done every 4 months. I got the result today at my appointment (9.6). It stayed the same as the last time.ππ
