Last week I made the 30 plant challenge to help go into 2019 with a good start diet wise and I've kept a record of the plants I've eaten in the last week it includes herbs which added 4 and my total was 39. The first 15 are the easiest by far as I have my favourite foods and eat them a lot in various combinations like most people.
But it has made me think about the importance of eating as varied a diet as possible. For me it has been a great way to start the new year and am going to keep the diversity up. I have some fennel parsnips and baby courgettes for a roast tonight and didn't have any of them last week so will be keeping up the challenge.
The photo is raspberries and strawberries with organic live yoghurt and there's a little local forest raw honey drizzled on it, I think that honey and raw honey especially is a great plant by-product and that bee's are amazing little critters...π
I saw this concept on the WL forum and thought I like that, And I bet our vegan friends on VFL eat the most plants...
A poll will follow so watch this space and there are no deadlines for the poll so members can do the challenge if and when they like.
Here's the challenge post with a link about the benefits of eating 30 plants per week for good gut health:
Oh this is so wonderful! β I want to do this! I will definitely start writing down all the food I eat starting today and highlighting each item that is a plant based food, and in a week from now I will share my results! This is great! β
