Tips For Eating More Fruit
Honestly I don't think you need to. General nutrition advice is that we should limit fruit to no more than 3 portions per day (only if you're eating at least 4+ portions of veg though). If eating less than 4 portions of veg, then you should limit fruit to 1-2 portions per day. But they're upper targets, and there's really no minimum that says you have to eat fruit at all.
If you do want more, then some of the ways I enjoy fruit are: frozen raspberries on yoghurt, mashed banana through home baking, slices of apple dipped in nut butter
Why do you need to eat more fruit? Modern fruits have been engineered to contain a lot of sugar, so consider them a treat, nothing more. Your appetite is clearly making the right decisions!
If you already eat plenty of veg you're getting all the nutrition you need.
Hi WeeNanny it's easy to have an apple or a banana as a snack, I really like raspberries so eat those often but I eat much more veg than fruit. I like a bag of grapes when travelling as they are healthy and thirst quenching. 😊
Hi WeeNanny,
I would start by asking myself, what kind of fruit do I prefer? Then I'd try to have them either raw or cook. Find recepies that includes fruits. Other than that, I would try some fruits I've never eaten before. In the super markets, there are many of them. Living in a big city, I often go to different types of groceries, latino, chinese etc.
Sometimes I see something, I take note and go Google the food I've never tasted, what to do with it, how to prepare it. You'll learn a lot and you will probably add new food that you never tought you would eat... This helps me killing the "cooking and eating the same thing"routine.
Eating much veg than fruit is not a really bad thing.
regards.

Berries (blackberries, raspberries, gooseberries, strawberries…) on a tossed green salad 🥗 are delicious, WeeNanny! 😋
(So delicious, you mayn’t even want or need salad dressing. 😃 )

Hi WeeNanny
Welcome to the healthy eating forum. I enjoy having fruit on my breakfast in the morning - and I like to vary it, as it's nice to try different types of fruit. Delicious!

Fruit is recommended in sensible amounts - fresh or frozen. Limit dried fruits to occasional use because they are usually very high in sugar. If you are doing fruit smoothies always ensure they are packed with leafy greens to offset the fructose. Don't assume fruit juice is a replacement for fruit. It is not. It is very high in sugar and should be generally considered similar to drinking a glass of cola.
That said it is all about what you are replacing when you consume fruit. IRemember each person eats the same physical quantity of food most days. So if you are increasing one food then, by definition , you are decreasing another.
Favourite fruits are blueberries which proven to be very good for even diabetics!
Whatever when changing diet make sure your diet is nutritionally balanced. Spend a few minutes on somewhere like cronometer.com for free keying in the kind of meals you put together can be eye-opening.
Ratatouille: tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, aubergine. Just add garlic, onion and olive oil - olive is a fruit, too, now I come to think of it!
