There's a lot of discussion about energy prices going up, and it's prompted people to discuss tips for saving money. A lot of the tips seem to be around the kitchen, which has me wondering what your top tips are for eating healthy on a budget?
Some of the ones I use are:
Using frozen fruit and veg
Batch cooking then reheating the leftovers in the microwave
Using a slow cooker
Do you have any more?

Hi Cooper this is a great point and question.
I also buy frozen batch cook and use a slow cooker. My biggest saving is home grown raspberries gooseberries and tomatoes save me the most and I grow the tomatoes in pots.
As far as buying fresh fruit and vegetables are concerned you can’t beat seasonal.
I like too good to go, but it's difficult when you have dietary restrictions.
My sister told me that if you go to the likes of Lidl at around 8am, they sometimes have boxes of vegetable that are due to go out of date shortly, and you can get quite a big box for around £3.
You've got some great suggestions there. I tend to look out for yellow stickered foods (i.e. discounted if they're on or near their use by dates) and get some bargains that way. I particularly like the basket in the health food shop for that reason, as they discount things in that area as well, and sometimes I end up trying things I wouldn't normally try.
I sometimes use the Olio app which has people sharing unwanted food and there are also food heroes who collect just on date stuff eg bread from Tesco and share it out. I am also a hugh fan of going to the supermarket about 6-7pm as there are usually things in a 'bargain bin' area and you can freeze stuff that night!
