Hello Haleyjones , are you having any help with your depression? Prioritising your health is a really positive thing for both your physical and mental health so you have taken the first step posting here!

Maybe start with small positive changes you can gradually build on. Eating some fresh veg and fruit and cutting down on junk foods, getting some good nutrients into your body. Taking a walk in the fresh air, you can wrap up against the cold. Good luck ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you so much for your comment itโ€™s the little things like this that can make my day , Iโ€™m going docs Monday to see if I can pass this with help as Iโ€™m not doing well on my own unfortunately but itโ€™s a start ๐Ÿ˜xx

Hello Haleyjones and firstly welcome to HE we are a friendly supportive bunch so you're in great company with us.

I am so sorry that you are struggling with depression and you might find some simple exercises help like aerobic weights as you can use them sitting on your sofa, exercise releases positive brain chemicals and if you could manage a walk outdoors you might find this beneficial. Just doing small tasks can take our minds off things and that can help our moods. As can a healthy diet packed with vital nutrients as Fran182716 suggests.

What is important is to realise that you are not alone and there is support out there for you

and talking about your feelings can be very beneficial so if you want support then you'll get it on here from us.

I wish you well,

Jerry ๐Ÿ˜Š

HiHayley Jones l to suffer from depression aswell as osteoarthritis cervical spondylitis diverticulitis IBS permenately lately, but even though l have no appetite l still try to force myself to eat something a day and move around the house as often as l can as this is what is helping me plus l am on a s.w plan which has helped me greatly, even though l have not been able to go for about 14weeks due to permanent diahorrea which l am under the hospital, But l do think you need to give yourself a strong talking to As that is what l have to do, you must not this awful FIBROMYALGIA RILE YOUR LIFE. I know this must sound hard for you at this moment but l am sure it will help you in long run but there is no easy way to help people with depression wish you all the best xx

It seems you are on the road to recovery. Foods rich in Tryptophan will help to boost oneโ€™s mood. They include chicken, turkey, eggs, fish, beef, lamb, peanuts and many others. You can find details on the Google Search Engine.

Wishing all the best!

Glad you are looking at dietary changes. Did you know the health of your microbiome has a direct influence on your mood? See nutritionfacts.org/topics/d... for more info.

I have your same problem. I am a senior living alone. Eating is a big problem for me. I don't have much interest in food. I enjoy this group because I get ideas of what to eat. I keep trying. Many good ideas here. Best wishes to you and me!
