Stewed apples (top with toasted oats if you like), fresh berries, frozen raspberries, a cube of cheese, a little bit of chocolate, a date ball/nakd bar. There are lots of options available, if you just want a little something after dinner :)

If I need a real dessert for a special occasion though, I will make a real dessert. Sometimes it's good for us to have the indulgent things :)

Dear Allison,

Try Fruit, with Low/ No Sugar Jelly, Fruit, with Low Fat Rice pudding. Maybe a Shop Bought (Urg☹) Low/ No Sugar Desert. If you fancy a 'Change' maybe a SMALL piece of cheese (lower fat naturally) with some crackers- or your choice.

This time of year is ideal for Stewing, your Own fruits, be they Apples, Pears, Plums, Damsons even Rhubarb- though you WILL need a Sweetener of some kind.

Good Luck

Lower fat options aren’t a good choice so I have heard.

That Depends on the 'Type' of Sweetener that is used, Stevia is supposed to be Ok- it has been recommended, by a Diabetic friend. Mind you I'M now 'Diabetic' now.....

Hope this is some help, good luck.

I’m talking about low fat in most processed foods though, not just desserts.

‘Low fat’ this and ‘lower fat’ that usually means low saturated fat cos some people seem to think saturated fat is bad for you.

It’s not bad at all, in fact our brains need saturated fat.

Hello Allisonshane this is a great question and I really like fruit so will have raspberries with live yoghurt for a really healthy tasty desert, or with soy cream. I also love bananas and have them with custard or a little soy cream or live yoghurt.

Baked apples are another favourite and I core them and put sultana's in them with cinnamon and a little brown sugar and then microwave for approx 1 min and have that with yoghurt custard etc.

I love a nice healthy desert and do like sharp fruits like raspberries gooseberries and rhubarb as they bite back.

Jerry. 😊

.

Do the folks (who are doing well/ improving/ healing) at the "Living with Fatty Liver and NASH" forum ( healthunlocked.com/fatty-li... ) have dessert recommendations for folks with Stage 4 Cirrhosis Liver (NASH), Allisonshane? 🤔

.

Poked around my usual ‘go-to’ (plant-based) references (for food guidance) & found these resources that might be worth exploring? 🤔

. . • Dr. Michael Greger (NutritionFacts.org): nutritionfacts.org/?s=cirrh...

. . • Dr. John McDougall: drmcdougall.com/health/educ... , drmcdougall.com/misc/2002nl...

. . • T. Colin Campbell: nutritionstudies.org/?s=sta...

. . • Dr. Neal Barnard (PCRM): pcrm.org/search?keys=Liver

. . • Forks Over Knives (FOK): forksoverknives.com/?st=Arr... , forksoverknives.com/health-... ( oh2.life/about )

.

They may have dessert recommendations, along with other safe/ appropriate food recommendations. 🤞

Wishing you the very best, Allisonshane. 😌 🙏 🍀 🌺 🌞

Trader Joe's Chocolate Hummus with sliced up fruit (apples, pears, strawberries) and dried bananas, or salty pretzel crisps or graham crackers. Look at this page: traderjoes.com/digin/post/c...

Just saw your profile Allisonshane and realised you have NASH, so really I think it would be a good idea to ask your doctor for a dietician referral for advice specific to your condition. What would constitute a healthy dessert for most of us is likely to contain fruit of some sort, and as fructose is processed in the liver too much might not be good for you, but I don’t know enough about your condition so wouldn’t want to advise. Good luck and hope you can find something healthy and tasty that meets your needs 😀

I’m in Australia and mango season has just begun so my husband and I have been enjoying diced mango and fresh blueberries with a dollop of Greek yogurt, sprinkled with slivered almonds.

Hi Allison,

Usually every 3 days a week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) I make a homemade avocado-based pudding for me and my parents using my Nutri bullet.

I have half an avo, 1 banana, 3 dates, 11 pecan nuts, 3 tsps chia seeds, 1 tsp baobab extract powder, handful of raisins/sultanas, some turmeric, arabica coffee.

Add some organic oat milk and whizz it up.

It’s like a mousse and tastes lovely.

sounds delicious -I must try that :) when you say arabica coffee are you using it as the liquid or just the ground beans?

I should have explained the arabica coffee a bit more clearly but it is a powder in a sachet.

There is a company called Four Sigmatic that make mushroom coffees, I have the Lion’s mane coffee. I’ve read that Lion’s mane is beneficial to the brain, helps cognition and apparently the Tibetan monks drink a Lion’s mane tea.

Also on the Four Sigmatic website is an interesting video of mycologist, Paul Stamets where apparently, we don’t really need pesticides. Nature, in theory, could take over. So that would take a massive chunk out of Monsanto.

Back to the coffee, I went off on a tangent... again :).

Each box includes 10 sachets of arabica coffee (powder) which includes Lion’s mane powder.

oh right -Ive just replied to someone else who was asking about teas and I mentioned that I use the 4sigmatic 10 mushroom blend in my morning organic tulsi tea so I know about them already :)

All food is good for you as part of a balanced diet - we all need energy - but most of us eat more than we need.

Most desserts are full of sugar and/or refined carbohydrates, which are bad for you. Even fruit contains a lot of sugar.

Low-Carbohydrate, High-Fat (LCHF) is good but full-fat yoghurt is about the only dessert I can think of that complies.

Crème brûlée contains sugar - but is my favourite dessert (Could you ever find a proper one that was not just custard?).
