Breakfasts this week.... (What? No fasting?)

I started my week out fasting (which is my most favorite way to feel in the mornings), but decided half way through this week to incorporate more fiber into my days, and pay attention to how I feel. I'm a bit concerned about the way I feel when I do eat, and that is why I am experimenting with foods.

So the last couple of days I have eaten fresh fruits and nuts. Yesterday for example, I ate a small red apple, and about 1/4 cup of raw mixed nuts. Today I ate a peach, and a small tangerine and about 1/4 cup of raw mixed nuts, actually maybe a bit less than 1/4 of a cup.

What I notice is that about an hour after I eat, I begin to feel kinda funny. Almost like I have a tightness in my chest, and a slight pressure and a wave of heat that kind of seems to go through my body. I liken the heat to a slight hot flash, and maybe that is all that is, because I am, after-all, 50, as of last month. But, I am more concerned with the overall feeling of pressure in my chest area. It's like when I eat, I'm feeling weaker. I don't know if this makes sense for anyone.

But, I never feel this way when I don't eat in the morning. Thoughts?

To be specific, it feels like a woozy kind of feeling, and a heavy kind of feeling and a tightness around my neck and I am concerned a little. Maybe I should speak to my doctor about it.

Hi WebMistress obviously you need to get a chest pain with tightness checked out, what is interesting is the timing of 1 hour after eating which could indicate indigestion/GERD as the fruit is acidic.

Fruit and nuts sound a really healthy breakfast so good luck with this. 😊

Definitely best to get chest pain and tightness checked out as soon as possible to be on the safe side.

If the Dr. says everything okay cardiac-wise maybe ask for hormone check? I have been having hot flushes for two years now (age 54) and I go through spells on and off where the flush is accompanied by palpitations (completely normal nothing to worry about) Not sure whether this could be anything to do with your eating times or just a coincidence, but there are certain things which seem to trigger mine - using a hairdryer, washing up with hot water, coming into a warm house after walking outside, wearing a zipped-up coat when driving.

Hope all is well 🙂

Hi WebMistress

I hope you feel ok today - and that you can get checked out medically - to be on the safe side, and wishing you the best for the rest of the day.

Zest :-)
