Today’s Allotment Haul

So I managed a 30 minute brisk walk this morning with no inhaler and no breathlessness, must be getting fitter! Then a quick trip to the allotment, pulled a few weeds and gathered up this nice little harvest. I am really looking forward to the first of the Runner Beans for lunch - a good day so far 😀

Hi PurpleAlf, what a gorgeous selection of lovely veggies, your sunburst squash looks good and an interesting veg.

I'm glad that you've enjoyed your day and are reaping the benefits of all your efforts, it's very encouraging. 😊

Wow PurpleAlf

That is wonderful produce - really fresh and colourful - and as you say a nice little harvest. :-)

Great that you enjoyed your 30 minute brisk walk this morning - and you definitely sound like you're getting fitter. Lovely way to start the day.

Zest :-)

My tomatoes are just beginning to ripen - what part of the country are you in? I am at my field at the moment harvesting things. I've dug some of my Charlotte potatoes, loads of yellow and French beans, loads of card, courgettes and a few onions in advance of pulling them soon. My runners are only flowering yet. I've still got some blackcurrant to pick and a few peas.

Hi Flickr, I am in Essex and the tomatoes are from the greenhouse. I planted onions in October, so mine are in the greenhouse drying. I love Charlotte potatoes, they have the best taste. No chard yet, but planted it late. This is a great time of the year, isn’t it 😀

Yes, I love it. It always seems a battle in spring when I plant the seeds andthey don't germinate or they get eaten, so you start again, so everything's late and then at time of year you find athere's loads to eat after all.

I've just been and picked a few kilos of bullaces to turn into wine and there's a bullace crumble cooking in the oven right now. So I'm just going to have some courgette soup before dealing with all those beans I picked.
