Easter is not just about a bank holiday to eat chocolate eggs its a celebration that should symbolise peace, hope and change for the better.
We are sadly a consumer society and Easter eggs symbolise this so here's something to think about, feeling anger with those we don't agree with achieves nothing positive and peace starts with 'us' as individuals when societies are very divided and polarised at the moment, so we need to show benevolence to those we digress with and treat each other with respect, with no ifs or buts.
So here's wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Easter and don't be afraid to hold your hand out in friendship to others.
What a lovely peaceful view of the lake - gorgeous. I also appreciate the sentiments in your post - and would like to wish everyone a Very Happy Easter.
What a great post Hidden I donβt follow any formal religion so Easter does not have specific significance to me, but today seems like a day to be very grateful for what we have. It is a beautiful sunny day, my plans have changed as itβs too hot for Buzzy dog to go on the greyhound walk in full sun so weβre heading off to bluebell woods where it will be quiet peaceful and shady, no where better to be mindful of the beautiful nature around us, and grateful to live somewhere where we can access this easily. I almost always meet lovely people and their dogs while Iβm walking. Grateful too for my sons and our plans for a family meal and table games later today as we couldnβt all do this at Christmas due to work shifts.
Thank you Fran, this sounds wonderful to me, bluebell woods are so tranquil so I agree that we have to appreciate what we have and enjoying nature is so good for us.
I hope that you enjoy your day now,
Jerry π
Happy Easter Jerry, thoughtful post, thank you for sharing.
Better late than never AndrewT, I'm glad that you were honoured to read the Easter reading on Easter Sunday and felt honoured.
At least no one was hurt in the Notre Dame fire and the structure is sound.
I think we should also feel/pray for those who suffered in Sri Lanka when all they wanted to do was pray in church or be on an Easter holiday as over 250 have now died as a consequence of the totally barbaric and unnecessary atrocity. π
