As I was telling Kitten-whiskers , I would upload a picture of a robin I once drew.

Normally my art is done in black and white graphite pencils but this was drawn using colour pencils.

I do also use watercolour pencils but not so much.

I don't do any painting. I have tried before but don't enjoy it so much.

This drawing, like with many of my drawings, took a few weeks to complete, but it really depends on my mood at the end of the day.

I love your drawing Matt. What a talent you have! Do you make your own cards? Ali 🙂🌱

Thanks Ali :).

Yes, I do sell cards.

I mostly sell original A4 size drawings and prints but Ican get my drawings printed onto greetings card via a certain company :).

That’s so good Matt and I’m not surprised you sell them. I would love to be able to draw but I’ve got a mental block on it. After being told as a child I couldn’t draw. Your robin is exactly the sort of drawing I like. I’m way off being a child now though so not sure why I haven’t moved on and still have the block lol. Maybe I need to start practicing! 🙂

Yes, maybe you do need to start practising.

Sometimes I don’t think you should listen to what others say and as you said, you’re not a child now, your skills in drawing may have bettered/matured.

When I was little I used to draw cartoon-like drawings a lot. People liked them. I didn’t sell any back then though.

As I grew up I drew other things. When I was in college I did an art course and I think I was a little inspired by Picasso and maybe Salvador Dali’s work.

I left college in 2001 and that’s when I decided to stay at home (for medical reasons). I lost a lot of confidence and motivation this way and I stopped doing my drawing altogether. I would come up with some excuse where I did not know what I wanted to draw/artist’s block as I called it.

This lasted for about 6 years until 8 joined a disabled charity called Headway and they helped me with my confidence and motivation.

In 2008 I started drawing again :).

In 2010, I joined another charity, showed off my work there and that is when I had help and a friend tutored me on my art.

And now I am selling and displaying some to the public :).

That’s fantastic Matt. I think it’s a lovely talent to have and I really like your style of drawing and your use of colours. Well if you also had a block and you can obviously draw then it just goes to show that feeling you can’t do it is a hurdle to overcome and not a reality. Thank you for the tips Matt and I’m going to give it a go.😁Ali

We will be getting more snow starting tonight into tomorrow morning and Monday!

Matt2584 profile image
Matt2584 in reply toActivity2004

Really. That means we might be getting some snow then soon.

What I have found with my other friends from East America is that we have similar weather conditions.

The only big difference in the weather to me is that they likely get more tornadoes, hurricanes and floods where we don't.

England has experienced some tornadoes but not proper twisters.

We have had a few earthquakes before but I would not be surprised if they have all come about because of fracking.

We’ve had a few earthquakes here and there, but not recently— luckily!😀👍
