Hi shogg

Wow, your operation scar is testament to what you've been through recently - I am so glad you're safely through it - take it easy to recuperate - and wishing you the best for your recovery.

Zest :-)

That looks painful! Hope you have a speedy recovery ahead :)

I reckon you'll be pretty swollen just now, and your weight will go down a bit after it's gone down! Just make sure you rest and drink lots of water!

Hi shogg, well done! The relationship between weight and exercise is poorly understood, imo.

I was a couch potato of the first order for around six months due to my rheumatoid arthritis (I watched Breaking Bad complete series around 7 times!!!) making any movement, or non-movement horrendous. Prior to that I worked lifting very heavy parcels for 8 hours a day. So whilst working my weight resolutely stayed around 90kg. Once I started being a couch potato my weight dropped steadily until six months later my BMI was around 25.

The thing that started to bring my weight down was my whole food plant based diet, eatng as much as possible at each and every meal. Having been a vegetarian for the last 40 years, for me it was clearly the removal of dairy et al made the difference.

Now my weight is stable at around 72kg, with a BMI around 23. relatively my body is in good trim, but that is also due to having started hot yoga, which can burn up to a 1000 calories per session. That said, I eat, as the saying goes like a horse.
