Just finished this series, and thought it might be interesting to others! They had a few episodes on diet/nutrition, but episode 9 is probably the most interesting one: the gut!

They looked at the effect of a 1 week junk food diet on gut biodiversity, and how it improved with a week on a healthy diet :) won't give too much away, but you can guess what's better for the gut!

I will do my best to watch Episode 9 - sounds really good. :-)

I was interested to hear that one of these people who thrived on a potato only diet for a year had their microbiome tested at the end and showed incredibly diverse and healthy gut flora. I find that very interesting since the natural assumption would be limited diversity in their gut flora. If you are interested in knowing more, let me know and I will chase down a link.

It seems to be thanks to the resistant starch, from the sounds of it! I'll be reheating potatoes a lot more from now on!

Was laughing at the doc kissing a head of iceberg lettuce, the least nutritious type. Water has the same food value. Haven’t bought that in 20 years.
