Hi. I am new to this also. I am 50 and am determined. Well done for signing up and getting stuck into this site. I am still finding my way around but have found everyone very helpful and supportive. good luck.

Hi Blumonday, well done for joining us and I see you've joined couch to 5K and have literally taken your first step in losing weight and getting healthy.

You're not alone in struggling with eating healthy food and its about changing your relationship with food and realising that a 'treat' is in fact the opposite as its empty calories that will not satisfy you hunger nor help with losing weight and being fitter.

So we delude ourselves that a sugary treat will make us happy...

My advice is to try and change your bad eating habits to good ones by choosing the healthiest option of your favourite meals and make sure that you have all the nutrients that you need as many people are over fed and undernourished so they are constantly craving nutrients. And keep an eye on the portion size.

Coupled with exercise you should achieve your goals and reap the benefits of feeling healthy with a sense of well being.

So good luck and you're in good company on here for all things healthy eating.

Jerry 😊

Keep in mind SOS - salt, oils, sugar. The body absolutely craves these things. That wasn't a problem before modern supermarkets and restaurants, but nowadays we can gorge ouselves silly at almost every meal. I remember as a kid having meat twice a week, Sundays and Thursdays. All the fat from the meat was saved and spread onto bread as the days rolled by and sprinkled with sugar, all in the interest of providing much needed energy. These days many people just go from one fast food outlet to another.

The more you move towards a whole food plant based diet the more your body will crave nutrition instead.
