Hi , i used to weigh 144 KG ( 317 Pounds ) . i recently finished 4 months in the gym and dieting . i found out i lost about 22 KG ( 48 Pounds ) . what i do everyday is mostly cardio ( 20 minutes Jogging and 40 minutes moderate swimming ) . i lost 22 KG doing that ? is that good or i should try harder in the gym ?

Hi JaffarMohammed, I'd say that 5Kg in a month is commendable and 20Kg in 4 months shows commitment and I think you're doing fine and wouldn't push yourself any harder as this is sustainable and coupled with healthy eating you will feel better everyday because of your efforts.

So good for you and keep it up is my only advice and well done for joining us as we encourage healthy eating and exercise for a healthy lifestyle so you're in good company on here.

Jerry 😊

Hi JaffarMohammed

Welcome to the Healthy eating forum, and I hope you enjoy participating here. Have a look around, we do have a Topic called 'HE and Exercise' which stands for 'Healthy Eating and Exercise'. I think you have made great progress on your weight loss - and personally I think it's good to listen to your body and pace yourself accordingly. Like Hidden said, a rate that is sustainable is preferable.

I'm always careful not to push myself too hard, and I try to achieve a balance.

Zest :-)

You should be building muscle mass which will weigh more so you’ve probably lost more fat but it doesn’t show on scales because of the muscle gain. I think you’re doing enough cardio if you try and do more it may become unsustainable or less enjoyable. Perhaps you could end your sessions with 10-15 mins of weights / resistance training ?
