A new film "HOPE - What You Eat Matters" from Germany has just been released and is free to watch. hope-theproject.com/ There are some subtitles but much of it is in English.
It starts with personal health, moves onto environment and finishes with animal welfare. On the health aspect it features T Colin Campbell and Caldwell Essylten who have around 120 years of continuous nutritional research between them (and still going), and with so many published peer-reviewed papers, in my eyes they can be considered the fathers of whole-food plant-based nutrition (though probably grandfathers is more appropriate.)
On the environment it makes the point that the only 2% of US soy crop is for human consumption. 98% is for feeding cattle and fuel generation. It makes similar points about corn production. It then links this to rainforest destruction.
Warning: For some the animal welfare part of the film may be hard to watch. Overall this film does not concentrate on the harsh animal rights exposure footage that can be found elsewhere. What it does do, for example with pigs, is to draw comparisons of what a pigs life naturally would be like with that in modern commercial farms.
