Avocados. In your belly and spread across your face. I'm not joking.

BadHare in reply tomdr1000

I sometimes get them round my mouth when I spread them too thickly on my sandwich! ;)

mdr1000 in reply toBadHare

I mash one up and use it as a face pack once a week or so, sometimes with a bit of honey and some powdered rhassoul clay

BadHare in reply tomdr1000

I like an oat facepack! :)

mdr1000 in reply toBadHare

Yes, oats and avocado face pack would be very anti ageing and also amazing for eczema. Also extremely nutritious if you accidentally swallowed some of it!

BadHare in reply tomdr1000

Haven't tried avocado on porridge, & a strictly maple syrup fan! ;)

mdr1000 profile image
mdr1000 in reply toBadHare

Haha, me neither, just for a face pack maybe though avocado goes nice with everything. Maple syrups amazing and I do suffer from bee related guilt. They're amazing if you ever talked to any bee keepers

BadHare profile image
BadHare in reply tomdr1000

Maple syrup also goes nice with everything, though I restrict it to porridge & pancakes. :)

I love bees, & see honey bees from local hives in my garden. They're generally well cared for from local bee keepers, & the honey tastes better. Not so with commercial production, which is bad.

mdr1000 profile image
mdr1000 in reply toBadHare

I know, the difference is unbelievable. The stuff I use is strained by the keeper and spun by hand. It's not even more expensive and the fact it's local helps with hay fever in the spring and summer.

I don't mean to go on a bee-rant but a good friend of mine used to keep them and the things he told me convinced me that they're mathematical, artistic and quantum physics geniuses, haha.

BadHare profile image
BadHare in reply tomdr1000

I've bought that type, though I don't suffer with hayfever.

Bees are fascinating critters, & they're fluffy, too! My favourite are red mason bees, but I've not seen those where I live now, & few where I used to live, though I see five or six types here in summer on my huge rosemary bushes.

mdr1000 profile image
mdr1000 in reply toBadHare

That honey will taste nice. One of my friends who's vegan has started getting some which is sourced without disturbing the bees. It's expensive as its a new technique, I think she said but it must be ok if she's eating it - she has slightly militant animal activist tendencies.

BadHare in reply tomdr1000

I'd like to know where that comes from, please mdr1000 ?

Hiya, this is it. We did have a discussion about it because I said 'so theft is acceptable as long as you're not disturbing them then?' I don't recall coming to any conclusion but I said it can't be so bad if the bees owners treat them nicely, you could call it a symbiotic relationship.

What a great idea! :)

in reply tomdr1000

Thanks for your reply. But only avocado! I am also under weight, that might be a reason for early aging problem.

mdr1000 profile image
mdr1000 in reply to

Haha, no there's loads of other things too it was just the main one that springs to my mind and makes a good face pack too. A large avocado has about 300 calories in it though, so good for under weight. To be honest, its just wholefood veg, raw where possible/tolerable and fruit. I avoid smoothies though as the fructose turns into sucrose when it's blitzed into a puree, or so I'm told...

Thank you so much for your valuable information. Can you give me some more information about it??

Eat a wide variety of brightly coloured veg / salad and fruit. Try to avoid foods with added sugar and if you smoke, give it up.

in reply toPenel

Yes i smoke often. Is it the reason??

Penel profile image
Penel in reply to

Yes. It’s just about the worst thing you can do.

Eat plenty of fresh fruit & vegetables containing flavanoids, vitamin C & a wide range of micronutrients. Organic is best. Nuts (not peanuts) & seeds for healthy oils. A little good quality >70% cocoa dark chocolate.

Avoid junk & processed foods, especially fats such as margarine, & chemical sweeteners.

Try eating lots of high fibre natural prebiotics, & a decent probiotic such as kefir for good gut health. Beauty comes from the inside! :)

If you're adhering to a healthy diet, getting enough exercise, & not feeling or seeing any benefit, best see your GP in case there's an underlying issue.

What do you mean by ageing problem?

in reply toRignold

Means skin looks dull, wrinkles, fatigue and many more.. at an early age.

I was gonna say, skin starts sagging, wrinkles, turkey neck or, slow recovery of muscle fatigue, putting weight on, hard to shed etc? Early signs mean, you might be in your early 30s? I agree with the posters. Food rich in antioxidants in theory. But some people eat average diet and still looks younger for their age.......... Any chronic conditions? Allergies? Anything in particular are you concerned by?

Thanks for your reply. i am 42 years old. i smoke and under weight. Is it the reason for early aging?

benwl profile image
benwl in reply to

smoking is probably a big factor - i know its easier said than done, but giving up would be the biggest single thing you could do for your health.

in reply tobenwl

I agree.

joshuamiller7602 I often hear that after the 40s, it's your payback time. It sounds cruel, but the body seems to recall everything you did from the beginning, and cancer, for example, takes decades after exposure to certain pathogens. Those "early signs", personally, I would take it as body's way of letting you know..."I'm not happy here". You clearly took notice, and that's very wise. It's so much easier if your car is brand new and once it's gone past a certain age, it's not the same. Sadly, the image orientated society would not show living well after a certain age group (as it's not quite glamorous), the reality is there. If you stop making effort, you go downhill pretty quickly. Good luck.

Hi Dear, thank you so much for your kind reply. I know this fact. its natural to become old with time. But, I am sure there will be some ways to delay this problem up to some extent. Still, i am looking for something that might help.

Smoking has a 50% chance of killing you too... my Dad died of small cell lung cancer three weeks after diagnosis and he had a pretty horrific death. It’s personal choice, but my view is no good can come from smoking

mdr1000 profile image
mdr1000 in reply to

God, yes, that needs to stop. I'm 43 and smoked up untill 3 weeks ago. I'm also paleo and only eat whole foods but all of this was just to counteract the smoking.

Now I'm acomplete Allan Carr bore and post this link incessantly...

It might help. I'd tried quitting twice before over 18 years and failed but developed quite extreme paranoia about dying in front of my children. I was also borderline obsessed with anti ageing also 'cause of the fags. I still am, as vanity is the only vice I have left.

in reply tomdr1000

Thanks dear mdr1000. It might helpful for me.

Carrie, Did it help? I am on it. Please ignore this question if you prefer not to say. :-) Cannot say, it helps myself, it makes me wonder it's another "miracle cure" hype, trying to sell their commercial items to those, who are afraid or have fear...... I guess winter never helped. I try not to think about it too much. Factor 50, too. Sounds like very sensible advice. :) I would dread to think about the further loss of elasticity, losing muscles and ligaments. I no longer rely on bottled supplements after years of using them. Real food only except some essentials. I'm not too crazy about chemical buffers and what they would do once taken.

I have very few fine lines and I’m 42. Most people think I’m in my mid 30s. I cleanse, serum and moisturize everyday and I take my supplements and drink plenty of water. Two young kids have aged me plenty the last few years but that life😊 I do use retinol serum as well which definitely helps too 😀

in reply toCarrieD2018

Thank you for sharing. I'm a little sensitive to retinol, but now you have reminded me. I might use it on my legs. :)

Eat a diet rich in antioxidants and drink plenty of real water so the body can get rid of all the nasty's the antioxidants mop up! Works for me!

in reply toholistickay

Thanks for you reply. I am taking about 2 lit. water daily. What kind of food contains antioxidants??

Anything green especially dark green and leafy, nuts, decent dark chocolate...

Like other people have said, you want a decent sleep routine, plenty of water and fresh fruit and veg. If you're wanting something practical to do other than wait for this kind of stuff to start to work, look after your skin by soaking in a bath of sea salt and olive oil after a shower or massaging your face. I did a face massage on myself to reduce cigarette cravings and make it feel like I had something to make me look better to replace the fags with, not that I have many cravings now but I remember to do it once or twice a week...

youtube.com/watch?v=ApBNz3n...

youtube.com/watch?v=LXO8iVq...

Olive oil, almond oil, rose-hip or argan oil (all 100% virgin, cold pressed) are best, coconut oil can dry your skin out a bit.

Good home-made face-packs are (apart from avocado!) mashed banana, honey and crushed almonds.

Powdered rhassoul clay water and honey ( to make it stick to your face).

Olive or almond oil, sugar, salt and ground coffee beans.

There's all manner of powdered seaweeds and stuff in Aldi that 'd be good for the skin but I haven't tried them myself yet.

The initial outlay seems expensive when you smoke as I did, but actually cheaper once you stop and it's more decadent than fags, has a beneficial effect and makes you feel happy instead of the dread of the nebuliser.

Seriously though, packing in the fags is the ultimate skin care/anti ageing thing you can do. People seem to notice after a few days and Its actually cost nothing - the opposite in fact!

Quit smoking.... yes it’s hard but I quit 14 months ago.... best thing I ever did!!. The quit support site here is the place that really helped me stay quit. Give it a try😊

I also put on weight which I’m finding incredibly hard to shift but I’m not too worried about it as I exercise regularly on my bike, it will go eventually. Might help put some on for you.

Also there is nothing wrong with ageing. I’m 43 and as long as I’m fit and healthy I will grow old gracefully... or not so gracefully depending on how I feel on any given day😃.

Hydrate often... water is the best fluids to have.

😊

Thanks Frostie2560.

A good retinol face cream with sunscreen and an A-Z multivitamin and mineral. Cut down on alcohol and sugar and if you smoke then try to give up. Healthy fats are good so don't go fat free

Thanks for kind reply/.

Thanks to everyone for your kind and informative reply.

To find my answer, I have also gone through with some websites like webmd, zovon, healthline and some others. These websites have some information regarding health issues. what are your suggestions about such websites?

Frostie2560 profile image
Frostie2560 in reply to

I don’t use these sites so can’t comment on how informative they are. I think you need to look at your health, your diet and your well being first. This is what I had to do and I spent a good year focusing on one important change. It was quitting smoking( it’s taken me 27 years to do this!) now I’m focusing on healthy eating. What I’m saying is there are no quick fixes or magic pills to help us, we need to do it. Chuck out all your junk food, moisturise and cleanse daily, drink plenty of water and eat nourishing foods. Make a list and stick to it. (The changes will happen slowly but you’ll be so glad. My skin is so soft since I quit too😊)

I don’t know how old you are but I wish I’d done all this 10 years ago!.

😊😊

in reply toFrostie2560

Smoking is one of the worst habit i have. its not easy to quit it. Really, i am so tensed about my health.

Frostie2560 profile image
Frostie2560 in reply to

It’s hard... I know I’ve tried to quit so many times but finally I’ve done it. You have to be ready and determined. Quite a few people find it easier to switch to vaping and slowly wean off nicotine. Why dont you just browse around the Quit support group and see what you think?. Everyone there is very supportive and non judgemental as everyone on there has(or is)been a smoker. There’s loads of info too.

If you don’t want to then that is totally up to you of course😊

Hey stephenlopez, your information is really useful.
