Eating healthy

I'm not new to eating healthy. It's just hard to resist unhealthy snacks. I try to eat organic. I am not a vegetarian because I find I feel better with protein from meat, just a little.

Does anyone have the same issue?

I love healthy eating but unfortunately also love some unhealthy food but I do seem to be slowly but surely improving my diet. I used to have chocolate a few times a week but I am managing to avoid that now. Also, I always wanted something after my dinner in the evening, now it's a bowl of fruit (I can't eat too much fruit as I have IBS).

You can eat healthier, it just takes time and I am by no means perfect as I love bread and cheese and will eat crumpets and they aren't healthy.

I know how hard it is as I've had to watch my weight all my life. I also eat little meat as I feel better with the protein but it doesn't sit with me comfortably at times.

All the very best.

Hi there, whilst a healthy balanced diet is important it is also important that we enjoy our food. My weakness is Alpro soy custard usually eaten with a big bowl of raspberries. And when I've been out on my mountain bike I really enjoy home made bread with cheese and crisps with a handful of baby tomatoes and silver skin onions. I also occasionally eat small bars of free from dark chocolate. But I don't have weight issues in fact my Dr told me that I ought to try and put on some weight and I bet they don't say that to many of their patients.

I'm also a coeliac so I don't give myself a hard time for enjoying empty calories. I also reckon I eat at least 5 a day. So if you're healthy and a healthy weight don't beat yourself up over it.

Hi harperjackson,

I think all have that issue at some period of life.

Though it's hard to shift to a purely healthy lifestyle, I try to keep track of healthy diet advice which came across. Today I read an article about bad sides of junk food (doubting whether there are any good sides at all).

Recommend you to have a look: phlabs.com/why-you-shouldnt....

In my opinion, you should not worry much and may gradually reduce the quantity of junk food, without any stress and concerns.

Good luck in your way!

I profess to eat ultra-healthily, but put some crisps in front of my mouth and I am as weak as anyone. "If it is in the house it is in your mouth." End of story.

I was brought up in a loving home with biscuits totally everywhere. I know these days I dare not buy them because if I touch one they will all be gone and I will not even know about it.

That said I now say clear of dairy and that is such a rule in my mind that saves me from 99.999% of biscuits. Phew!
