Just bought myself one of the portion plates and cereal dishes. I think portion size is one of my problems, hopefully the plate will help keep me in line.
I was 18st (252lbs) on 04.01.16 today 04.02.16 weighed in at 17st 5lbs so lost 9lbs this month. Would have liked more off hence the new plate
Let you know how I get on

Well done, and I wish you lots of luck, are you losing the weight for a special occasion, keep with it and your friends won't recognise you due to the amazing weight loss, love and hugs to everyone
Your weight loss is at the NHS recommended weight loss. 9lbs over 4/5 weeks is between 1.5 - 2lbs per week. This is what they recommend. If you try to lose weight faster you will end up with more saggy skin because your skin's elasticity will not have time to adjust. Ultimately its up to you but you need to know the risks.
Thanks Kate, I know slow and steady is best but some times you just feel it would be great to have a big loss.
I have been trying to loose weight for many years. Going well for a while then giving up. At my heaviest I was 1lb short of 20st. When I got off the scales I felt physically sick, I didn't realise I had let it get that far. That was 5 years ago and since then as I said I have tried to loose weight off and on. The only plus side is that I am now 17st 6lbs so although I haven't lost loads I also haven't put it back on.
I am back on track and feel more confident that this time I will go the distance. I am hoping that my new portion plate will help me keep my portions in check and I have given up alcohol except an occasional glass of red wine "for my heart"! and drinking plenty of water instead.
Exercise is difficult as I am ambulant disabled (loss of right leg) and find walking painful but have started armchair aerobics which is fun.
Im sorry to hear you find exercise difficult because of your disability. Remember exercise isnt just walking, its getting the heart pumping. If you are finding harder to burn off the calories try yoga, the floor will support and stretches will make you stronger. Also if you are good with balance try cycling, your back/leg are supported but you will still get aerobic exercise. (you do not need to do it in public if you are afraid of people starring get an exercise bike) You can get them that use arms to "pedal". Adaptability is the key to exercise. Disability to exercise is in everyone's mind, all sorts of people find all sorts of excuses not to do something, "I cant do because, Im too ill, my back hurts, my knee hurts, etc etc. Everyone can exercise no matter what shape you are in just find something that works for you. Please do not think Im getting at you in any shape or form, Im targeting everyone who use some excuse not to do something.
