Trying hard taking the scenic route......
Hi Vie59 ,
Welcome to the Healthy Eating forum. I would like to wish you success with your goals, and give you the link to the Healthy Eating pages on the NHS Choices website (which this forum is linked to) - and you can look at the 'Losing weight' section on there - which is about three quarters of the way down the list of page options:
nhs.uk/livewell/healthy-eat...
The other pages are great too - and I hope you'll find lots of support here in the forum. I'd also recommend the NHS weight loss forum too - as there are lots of group things going on, that you could participate in - and they do online weigh-ins - if you're interested in those. Can be very motivating to be part of a group in that way.
Good luck - you can do this.

Thanks had a look..downloaded the app etc....spent ages reading all the bits and am feeling inspired......
That's great Vie59 - really glad to hear you're feeling inspired - that is a great feeling! Here's to an excellent week ahead, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Just had a healthy breakfast...and have planned to go for a little walk this afternoon....have planned my meals for the day so I don't have to worry about what to eat and then trash the cupboard ....feeling positive....😎👣👣👣
Hi there Vie, I know it's really hard to watch your weight and keep it down as I've watched mine all my life. I have read a few things on the internet about healthy eating, exercise etc and they say that 80% of keeping a healthy weight is down to your diet and only 20% is down to exercise. I'm not saying that exercise isn't important but what I am saying is it's very important to eat sensibly and not to worry too much if you can't always exercise.
Think of it like this; some people eat fast food that is full of unhealthy fats, carbohydrates, lots of additives etc and exercises a lot so keep their weight down and others don't/can't exercise but eat a very healthy diet i.e. they rarely or don't eat any of the above can be a little overweight. The people that don't eat healthily are more than likely to have a lot more visceral fat which is body fat that is stored within the abdominal cavity and is therefore stored around a number of important internal organs such as the liver, pancreas and intestines. Therefore, the person that doesn't eat healthily may be slender but on the inside they have more bad fats.
Someone that may be more stocky and slightly overweight but eats a healthy diet is more than likely to have more healthy fats within their bodies and have much less visceral fat.
I hope this helps.
