Hi I'm sharshargabor,. (In my dreams!). After following daily the latest series of 'obese: a year to save my life' I've been motivated to get, at the very least out of the mobidly obese BMI range (44 BMI at present)
I have no set plan in mind and have yo yo dieted all my life hence the Current BMI. So I think the NHS and all I can gleen to succeed with shedding 9stone plus has got to be the way to go. Please say that it is!

Welcome to the Healthy eating forum. I can see you're keen to lose some weight, and you're considering the NHS plan - I think it's a great plan, as I've followed it myself and had some good results.
I would recommend going into the NHS weight loss forum - as there are regular daily weigh-ins, and you can also work towards weight loss badges in that community, if you want to - here is a link:
I hope you'll also stick around in this community too - as there are posts about healthy eating and if you have a look at the topics sections - hopefully you'll find something that interests you.
Wishing you success with your weight loss goals and hope you have a lovely weekend.
Zsa Zsa was beautiful... As I am sure you are Sharshargabor One day at time on the BMI goal. I am sure you will win for all your efforts have to be for you and you alone. You can do it.. No more yo yo's just good healthy eating with what used to be the regular portion sizes!! Wishing you great success... I look forward to watching you shrink!!
I have been helping my sister in her weight loss journey and I think the hardest part is to get over the idea that you have to be perfect to lose the weight. You will have days that you eat things that might not be great, but the trick is to get up the next day and keep going. Exercise as much as possible, it will help you mentally. Good for you for trying to improve yourself and Good luck!
Thank you for replying. I do have a lot to lose it's true. But I have finally decided and am on day four of the 16:8 fast. This means that for 16hours a day I have water only and for the remaining 8 hours I eat healthily and normally. I am trying to eat high GI foods like stir fry vege, high vegetable casseroles and having high protein breakfasts like, cottage cheese omlettes. So far all has been good. I use 'my fitness pal' to ensure that my calories and nutrition balance is healthy. I find it much less daunting only having to plan and consume my food within a set limit. Takes some of the brain work out of it. Then after my 8 hour 'OK to eat window' I don't even have to think about food and it's not an option so I do something else. Getting loads of stuff done that I'd probably be too lazy to do before and used snacking in front of the tele as an excuse to be lazy, under the justification of 'relaxing.' It's early days I know, but I've set myself the goal of the whole of February for 16:8. With a possible compromise to 12:12 on the rare occasions that 16:8 is not possible. But still using 'my fitness pal' for calorie and nutrition guidance. I had a load of .G.P. Tests before starting a 16:8 to ensure fasting was safe. E.g. I'm not diabetic or anything. So all good. It's nice to have an outlet to summarise my health journey on. It helps to organise and put my thoughts in perspective.
