Would it be bad for me to have a few drinks?

I want to have a few drinks tonight like 4 or 5 beers. I have been suffering from high cortisol levels and just recently fixed my sleep and got everything back on track although my body is healing and detoxing all the toxins so my symptoms are a bit worse than before so would it be bad for me to have a few drinks tonight?

  • Hi healthiskey,

Not sure if you're already out for the night - so my reply may not be the best in terms of timing, but I just wanted to say that alcohol does raise levels of cortisol, so do bear that in mind.

Regarding units of alcohol, you can see how much 4 or 5 beers would be if you use the unit calculator:

You can also read any other information linked to that page, if it would be helpful to you.

You've made progress in your goal to fix your sleep, and you've been feeling better in yourself.

Certainly having 4 or 5 pints of beer will have an impact on your body and your mind - so maybe think about what you want to achieve beforehand- and then make an informed choice about what you decide to do.

Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your evening and that you have a great weekend.

    Zest :-)

  • I decided to not have any beers and just relaxed for the evening. I feel much better now that i done that. I'm going to spain in about 6 weeks and want to be fresh and healthy by then and also want to have a few drinks over there but i should be fit to do that by then. Ty for your reply:)

  • Glad you enjoyed you evening, and how great that you have your trip to Spain to look forward to in about 6 weeks time. :-)

    Have a great weekend.

    Zest :-)
